six foot

shoots l
lw

hometown: ekaterinburg, russia
this is his first year playin north american hockey (small ice) previously played in sweeden including 34 games in the sweedish elite league (best league in sweeden)

great feet and good speed. creates play with his skates and speed. nice hands and can beat a man in 1 v 1 sitautions with open ice. deceptive with the puck. likes his "dangle" move. patient and creative with the puck occasionally to fault. shows a fiery side on the ice but though work ethic has improved still needs more improvement. decent forechecker. defense and physical play are questionable. not sure that his ht/wt match what he actually is.

(remind anyone of a current jacket? more of a poor mans version at this point) [i started a thread a) hes also recently signed b) rumor he may be moved as hes not a hitch player]

The championship series in the WHL is also set, featuring Medicine Hat against defending champion Vancouver. The best-of-seven series will start Friday in Medicine Hat.
The Tigers bounced Calgary 4-1 in the Western Conference Final. Derek Dorsett, Columbus Blue Jacket property, was the star for the Tigers, notching four goals and six points in the five games. For the playoffs, Dorsett has eight goals and 14 points in 11 games for the Tigers. He has scored at least one point in each of his past eight games.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica]9. Columbus Blue Jackets

Strengths: The Blue Jackets have been drafting in the top-eight of each and every draft since they entered the league back in 2000. This has helped the team gather several interesting prospects. Sitting on top of the prospects chain in Columbus is the speedy and deft-playmaking center Derick Brassard. He has the potential to be a top-two line center. Supporting him are solid wingers Alex Picard, Adam Pineault and Joakim Lindstrom whom all should be roster contenders for next season.
Weaknesses: The Jackets are missing a top-notch goaltending prospect and a defensive prospect. Right now the top players in those categories are Steve Mason (G) and Kris Russell (D). Both are intriguing prospects that should be roster contenders in a few years time, but they don’t have the making of blue-chip prospects.
Top Five Prospects: Derick Brassard (C), Kris Russell (D), Alex Picard (LW), Adam Pineault (RW), Geoff Platt (C)
Key Graduates: Gilbert Brule, Ole-Kristian Tollefsen

i disagree on mason and russell. you have the ohl goalie of the year who has been setting all kinds of records in mason then with russell you have two time whl dman of the year and this years whl player of the year. time will tell. russell will face the issue with his small size until he makes it in the nhl and even then will likely have doubters...
