CB Dominic Clarke (transfer to Illinois State)

[Clark Ready To Jump On His Opportunity...............Clarke thinks he has an opportunity to contribute next year and is looking forward to the challenge.[/quote]

hmmmmm...... interesting, a young man who believes he can play next year vs. another higher rated player who didn't feel he could hack it.

Tressell always gets his guys.

2008 Preview

Dominic Clarke has already committed to powerhouse Ohio State. Describe what makes him a good player. He?s probably one of our strongest kids, and his work ethic is just really good in the offseason. He goes the extra mile. He actually worked out with us and then worked out with EATS (Elite Athletic Training Systems), which a couple of our players are starting to do. He went and lifted with them and ran with them. So he?s been pushing himself to get himself in this kind of shape, so that increases his speed as well as his strength.

Tuscarora opens it season tonight against Frederick.

Tuscarora?s Dominic Clarke attempts to break free of a tackle during the first quarter of the Titans? victory over Frederick.

Dominic Clarke had never returned kicks for Tuscarora.Did Jackarie Jackson return any?
"Jackarie did for one game, and we took him out to rest him," Tuscarora coach Shawn Carey said. "But we're not going to do that anymore."
While Clarke and Jackson were already stars, they both added the role of "dangerous returner" to their football r?sum?s on Friday.
Clarke returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, and Jackson ran back a punt 60 yards for a touchdown in Tuscarora's dominant 40-6 win over Frederick in the season-opener for both teams.
While it was a stellar start for the Titans, none of their fans were in the stadium to celebrate the win. Spectators were ordered to evacuate the stadium during the third quarter after several fights erupted.

Tuscarora didn't waste any time seizing momentum. Clarke saw to that. The Ohio State-bound senior raced 90 yards for the first touchdown return of his career.
"When I got the ball in my hands, I knew I had to make a big play," said Clarke, whose speed wasn't the only thing that created the touchdown. "I'd have to be blind not to see that hole. It was huge."

In a game of many offensive stars for the Titans, the shining one was senior Dominic Clarke, who scored on runs of 27 and 1 yards and returned the second-half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown.
Clarke, an Ohio State recruit, also provided the defensive play of the game with a bone-rattling hit on fellow Division I prospect D.J. Scott in the last two minutes of the first half.
Scott, who has attracted the interest of Syracuse University, pulled in a pass from quarterback Dwayne Jenkins. But no sooner had he secured the ball and lifted his head to run, Scott was blasted head-on from a hard-charging Clarke.
"As soon as I saw the ball coming, I knew he was mine," said Clarke, who drew a collective gasp from anyone watching while knocking the air out of Scott.
The hit forced a fumble that Tuscarora's Bryce Hether returned 55 yards for a touchdown with 1:17 left in the first half, giving the Titans a 21-7 lead. "I didn't realize he had fumbled the ball," Clarke said. "I just looked up and Bryce was going the distance."

OT Win

WALKERSVILLE--Tuscarora running back Dominic Clarke had trouble for four quarters Friday night escaping the grasp of Walkersville defenders.

The Titans switched to the I-formation in overtime, handing the ball off to Clarke on three straight plays.

After gaining eight yards on his first two carries, Clarke was looking at a third down and he was two yards from the end zone.

Clarke took the handoff, powering his way across the goal line, giving the Titans a narrow 13-10 overtime victory against the Lions.

Am I seeing things or does it look like his strides are covering 3-4 yards on that kick off return? They look a lot longer than they were in his junior film.
