Michigan was particularly close to making a move on him. It will be interesting to see if they do eventually offer or back out. It can tell you a lot about the attitude of that staff in regards to Ohio recruiting.

Sounds like a chess match will take place. Will Dickrod offer, and try to steal away an OSU recruit? OR will he pass, feeling that if Michigan is spurned then that would be a 'recruiting coup' for OSU over Michigan. What is the potential for gain versus the potential face lost if he loses. Not sure that Dickrod can spell chess let alone play it, but his 'face' cannot take much more of a bruising. Dejuan will gain stars, merely by the OSU offer, whether deserved or not, just the way it is, nothing personal.fsd

Will be curious who take a fling at him to see if he can be swayed. From what I've read, he'll look great in scarlet and gray, and is the big CB that OSU turns into first round picks.......

Were you drunk when you wrote that?? I'm not sure what Michigan has to do with this kid at all..

I think he was referring to the fact that a lot of people feel he is OSU's to lose and didn't realize scUM was even in the mix.

My thoughts on Rich Rod: I don't think he can afford to not go after a player just to save face in recruiting battles any longer. He needs players. And if he feels that Gambrell is a DB he get on campus and has a shot @ landing, then you offer, regardless of how hard Ohio State or any other college continues to go after him.

There have been some not so good college coaches that have won a lot of game b/c they have had great players, there aren't a lot of not so good coaches that can win in the Big 10 w/o talent. UM just needs better horses in the stable. Gambrell appears to be a fine looking prospect.....and scUM ain't gonna get'em, jmo.

I thought his post was pretty clear and on point, if a bit rude. This kid is a buckeye and RR really isn't a factor here.

He also needs Grant, DePriest, Miller, Miller, Hayes, Turner, etc. Too bad he only wins the recruiting battles that are finished before puberty like Turner.

Gambrell has the same offers & the same feelings about OSU... He's not sure but thinks he'll commit to them next week... His recruiter is Doc Tressel who he talks with a lot & has attended several of his track meets... He's being recruited as a corner & would like the chance to return kicks... Has played safety & corner in his career...
