CB Bradley Roby (2x All B1G)

Only fell so far because there was no run on corners early on...everyone knew Gilbert, Fuller, and Dennard would go first, but I am a tad surprised Verrett went before him. Either way, I think Bradley ended up in a great spot...great franchise and he has an opportunity to contribute early. Congrats!

Got on an immediate contending team. Will be able to gain some valuable experience right off the bat. Tremendous opportunity for him & I wish him the absolute best.

Broncos' Bradley Roby got the right direction from his mother

Betty Roby, then recently divorced, was happy living in Mississippi, but her company lost the contract she worked on and she had to scramble. She landed a job in the Atlanta area and scouted out school systems for her 5-year-old son, Bradley.

She settled in Georgia's suburban Gwinnett County.

"The area I moved to initially was an area I could afford," Betty Roby said from her home in Suwanee.

"But I know the high school system wasn't exactly what I wanted for Brad," she said. "So my plan was to make sure that by the time that he was graduating from the eighth grade, I would move to another school district that would have a better high school for him. Education means everything to me. That's what my parents taught me. I went to school, got a college degree, got a great job. I wanted him to have that opportunity."

On Friday at the Broncos' Dove Valley headquarters, Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby was introduced as Denver's first-round draft pick. His mother, who works for the Atlanta-area corporate office of Bank of America, had been with him in New York the previous few days before going home as Bradley came to Denver.

Good opening week for Buckeye rookies.

Could have used some of these guys last night.

Always a bucket of cold water to the face to realize that "reload" doesn't mean OSU is going to replace four or five NFL starters by Week 2 of the college season. Most of these guys (Roby, Hyde, Mewhort, Linsley) didn't become grown-ass men until their Junior seasons. Not replacing that with redshirt freshmen.

Yeah, losing starters who are good enough to start for NFL teams as rookies definitely has an impact. I think we were all a little too confident in such a young crew of kids. They played hard, but they aren't NFL talents yet like the guys they replaced.

This means the Buckeyes have a very bright future of course.. Going to go through growing pains together, much like the guys who are currently starting in the NFL.

Glad Roby had a good showing though, in particular. I've always been partial to OSU corners and he was getting shit on a lot after his so-so season last year. Rightfully so. But I'm glad he's proven his worth.
