Try best in the B1G. This guy is the definition of an All-American corner. He will go down as one of the greatest Ohio State corners in history when his time is done here. The skill is just off the charts, and he obviously buys into the defensive schemes.

Still needs to more consistently wrap up tackles. The failure to wrap up Martiniez at the six-yard-line resulted in a TD. Maybe Corny would've scored the next play (3rd down) anyway, but he still needs to make that tackle.

If he stays until next year, I can see this happening. We will see about that, but I sure hope so.

As for his tackling, I haven't paid a ton of attention to it, but I'm sure there are still plenty of things he needs to work on still. He has made some very good tackles, but like many players on the team he can still improve in that area.

Considering he is a sophomore this year, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet he'll be wearing scarlet and gray on Saturdays next year. As for some anointing him as one of the greatest corners in Ohio State history, I'm a big Roby fan but he has quite a mountain to climb to get into that prestigious category.

Wow... totally slipped my mind he's a RS Sophomore... was thinking he was a true sophomore. *facepalm*

No doubt. He has a ton of potential, enough for me to see him being in the discussion in the future, but he will have to be even more consistently fantastic to reach that level.

As for whether he stays of goes, I have a feeling he will stick around. Nothing more than that, but he seems like a kid who loves to play and loves to be a part of this team.

Yeah...he's pretty far from Antoine Winfield/Shawn Springs level at this point. He can get there, but he's had a few "inconsistent" moments this year as well. Not only the missed tackle on Martinez, but in previous games where he lost track of his zone or man.

The game against Nebraska was really special with exception to the one missed tackle though. And in a deep draft class of CB's, but little "top-end" talent, it will be interesting to see where he is projected at the end of the season.

Roby continues to impress me every game. He has incredible recovery/closing speed. He also plays the ball very well, probably the only DB we have that could/should play on offense. His tackling is getting better each game, especially now that he isn't going for the strip every time. More importantly, if there was a "TD saving tackle" stat, he might lead the NCAA. If he stays and continues his progression, he will be right there with Winfield, Plummer, Clements, etc. Not sure we will ever see another CB like Springs, though.

They need to not run the Roby blitz anymore, I think it's resulted in a late hit, sack, and two long completions against safeties in man coverage.

Other than that, he's pretty much nails. Even after being beat by the double move, Roby did a great job to recover and break-up the pass.
