Well, the Cavs had their collective asses handed to them tonight, 102-76. They led 28-25 at the end of the first quarter, but just got pounded after that. You won't win very many games shooting 28 of 82 from the floor (and your opponent hits 16 more shots on two fewer attempts)...

Well it was 41-37 mid-way through the second quarter and they were only down 5 at half time. They couldn't find the bucket in the third quarter and You can't beat the defending champs like that.

I just hope this isnt a sign of things to come on the road. They have had trouble on the road in the past, hopefully they will be able to overcome those problems this year.

That horrendous thump was the sound of the sky-high expectations after ONE GAME beating NOOKC crashing back to reality. This is a good team, a playoff team, but a lot of people (that I've heard) were getting a little unrealistic.

Well I know it is an if, but if we don't shoot 20% from the field in the 2nd half it is a much closer game. We were ahead in the first half and down by 5 at half time. Also the game was on the road vs. the defending champs who I think have gotten even better by adding the couple guys they added so lets see how we can do against the eastern conference powers b4 we go knockin' down the high hopes.

I'm not saying the Cavs suck or anything like that, but I think we shouldn't be expecting them to go anything like 55-27 this season. Making the playoffs should be the main goal...anything after that is gravy.

Exactly, this season should be the building block for next season. I fully expect the Cavs to make the playoffs, but it will take them this season to a) learn to play better defense in general and b) learn the defense that Coach Brown is installing.

don't say I didn't tell you this was coming...

After the Knicks' 83-81 home loss to the Golden State Warriors, Marbury couldn't help himself from knocking the willy-nilly nature of Brown's substitution patterns, which haven't really been patterns at all, in losses to Boston, Washington and Golden State.

Danny Ferry needs to be on the phone with Isiah right now:

"Eric Snow for a six pack of moderately cold Coors Light...whadda you say, Isiah?"

okay...if they can't win tonight, then there is a serious problem...

Still looking to develop chemistry on a revamped roster and familiarity with a new system, the Cleveland Cavaliers look to snap a two-game losing streak when they face the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

After winning their opener at home Wednesday, the Cavaliers dropped the first two games of a three-game road trip. Cleveland was routed 102-76 by San Antonio on Friday, then defeated Memphis 113-106 on Saturday.

LeBron James scored 36 points against the Grizzlies and key offseason acquisition Larry Hughes added 21, but Cleveland was unable to hold a 78-71 third-quarter lead.

``Part of it is the inexperience of us building and hanging onto a lead, and part of it is the newness of the system,'' Cavs first-year coach Mike Brown said.

The Cavaliers spent $150 million during the offseason to sign free agents Hughes, Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones, and re-sign Zydrunas Ilgauskas. All four players are averaging double digits in scoring to supplement James' 29 points per game.

That streak could end against the Raptors, who have yet to score more than 100 this season.

A rough early schedule has been a major factor in Toronto's 0-3 start. The Raptors have lost to Washington, New Jersey and Detroit -- all playoff teams last season.

``I think our guys are just overwhelmed -- this is a brutal way to be introduced to the NBA,'' Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said. ``But no one feels sorry for us, and we can't feel sorry for ourselves. We just have to remember these beatings and give them back someday.''

Despite a 25-point performance by Jalen Rose, Toronto was routed 117-84 by the Pistons on Saturday.

``We just got beat,'' Mitchell said. ``It's not going to get any easier, either.''

The Raptors now have to deal with James, who had 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists at the Air Canada Centre in Cleveland's final game of last season.

STANDINGS (through Nov. 6): Cavaliers - 5th place, 2 GB, Central Division. Raptors - 4th place (tied), 2 GB, Atlantic Division.

PROBABLE STARTERS:

Raptors - F Chris Bosh, F Joey Graham, C Rafael Araujo, G Mike James, G Rose.

Raptors - Morris Peterson, 17.7 ppg; Bosh, 9.3 rpg; Jose Calderon, 6.7 apg.

2004-05 SEASON SERIES: Cavaliers, 3-1.

LAST MEETING: April 20, 2005; Cavaliers, 104-95. At Toronto, Ilgauskas scored 20 points to back James.

I don't know about you guys, but I would love for Larry Brown to call up and say we have this little energizer bunny, that plays like a ball of fire and we would like to send him your way for that old washed up bum you have starting at PG. What do you think?

That little guy is Nate Robinson, he is a rookie pg from Washington, he is electric, he is a taller version of Boykins from Denver. If we got him, there would be no stopping the running game, I wished they would of traded for him when PHX traded him to NY.
