Well I seriously doubt that you have any idea if Anthony plays good defense or not, and about the whole "me" attitude, that is completely blown out of proportion. Like I said before, with that whole thing in the Olympics, the guy was still only 19 or 20 years old. He was barely out of high school. He has, and will, mature a lot more, and playing on a team that has chemistry would develop that attitude. When you are looked at to carry your team and score 25-30 a night, like he has been for the Nuggets, you develop into a different situation than if he would have gone to a better overall team.

Carmelo Anthony doesn't have the character necessary to contribute in a system like the Pistons' system that they have developed over the years. I'm not questioning his talent, moreso his character and ability to play with a team. Personally, I can see 'Melo whining if he doesn't get his 20-25 shots a game. Tayshaun Prince wows me (along with many other viewers) with his ability to find a way to get the ball back to his team, and not giving up on tough plays. Do you remember his block a couple years ago on Reggie Miller? How about the one this year on LeBron? The guy is loved by his teammates and no one questions his heart or mental toughness. Then, Prince has the capability of knocking down jump shots, or driving down low for an easy basket.

And yes, I do know if he's played good defense or not. I have witnessed him play a couple of games (and many NBA analysts have as well, and questioned his heart, and defensive intensity), and his defense (while it's not piss-poor) is not as good as it should be. I'm not saying that he can't and won't improve, but he certainly isn't a stand-out defender in the league. As for his "me" attitude, I don't want to hear about it being "blown out of proportion." There have many circumstances and situations that have occurred, when Anthony has displayed many flaws in his ability to let certain things get to his head. (ie. Pulling himself out early of a game after having a bad game, and his composure in the Olympics, possibly one of the biggest and most honorable stages to play basketball.) Once again, I have nothing against Carmelo Anthony, but I will reiterate that I would rather have a decent offensive player and outstanding defensive force in Tayshaun Prince, than I would a very good offensive player, and a sub-par defender in Carmelo Anthony. Superior defense wins championships, as everyone knows. Tayshaun Prince and the Pistons certainly know that as they have two Eastern Conference Championships, and an NBA Title to show for that vital attribute. I guess what it all comes down to is knowledge of the game, and being an impartial fan... :wink2:

As for the Cavaliers, it's very nice to see the Cavs step up the defensive intensity, and see LeBron contribute in other ways, rather than just scoring. His better defensive play propelled them to a huge and much needed win today. It was also nice to see his teammates step up, as well. This was definitely a much needed win for LeBron and the Cavs.

Well I was at the pitiful Reds game tonite, so I wasnt able to watch the game. Was getting updates on my cell phone the whole time tho.

It is great to see us pull this one out. LBJ played a great all around game and that is what it is going to take for us to beat the Pistons.

They said Larry will not play again on Monday. I really feel for him, b/c of how close he was with his brother and I really hope that the Cavs can pull out another one at home.

There is a slight chance I might get tickets, and that would just be awesome.

So "honorable" that almost all first choice players turned down the chance to go play.......

Anthony is still the equivalent to the age of a senior in college, he has time to mature and get his game together. Besides, the Olympics thing was after his rookie year, and he was what, 19 or 20 years old? That's a lot to ask of someone at that age. He will learn.

Besides, how am I going to take an argument seriously of someone who has repeatedly told me that he could care less about the NBA, and never watches it?

Maybe because most male citizens of the United States of America (with a sack) watch SportsCenter, and get a pretty good idea of what is going on, based on views of analysts across the U.S., and their own personal views I can see and understand that you're getting defensive because he's your favorite player in the NBA, and he's from your favorite basketball school, but you also need to understand all the aspects of the game, and realized when biased opinion is a little bit of a stretch.

And as far as "honorable" goes... It's playing for your fucking country, and I can't think of more worthy of an honor, to wear a red, white, and blue jersey, representing the greatest nation in the world. And yes, many of the players turned down the offer, and that all exploits their selfishness, or apathy towards their country. Carmelo Anthony accepted that offer, and therefore he has a little bit of my respect, but there is no denying that he bitched and whined, while on the team. All that should matter, while you're on that stage is winning. Not "me." Your country wants you to win, they could care less if "Carmelo Anthony" gets 15 shots a game, as long as their players perform well and up to expectations, and bring home the Gold for the U.S.

You get your basketball knowledge from sportscenter????? enough said!

I don't blame him, for giving up his summer to play on a scrapped-together team to go "play for your country", when in reality half of the country doesn't give a shit about what happens. And besides, IIFC, they weren't winning, so I don't blame him (or any of them) for getting pissed.

First of all, "SportsCenter" is a figurative metaphor, pretty much using that as the superior state of comparison for all sports highlight shows. Tell me, where do you get your basketball knowledge on television?

And lastly, he shouldn't be acting like a little bitch, in the first place. If you were raised by good parents that don't budge over, easily (which I know you are), then you'd realize that bitching and whining doesn't get you your way (and unfortunately many athletes do get their way), whether or not your sixteen years old, or if you're an overpaid athlete. Maybe Carmelo got babied around, and got his way, I have no idea, nor do I care. But don't educate me on bullshit information about "half the country" not caring about the outcome of the Olympics, and that he should have played a decent amount of minutes, "when in reality" he wasn't one of the top five players on the team, let alone top ten. LeBron didn't start, and he didn't cry a fucking river. As you stated before, Carmelo is not as mature as he could and should be, yet. That's why he didn't see the floor for as long as he would have liked. Call me stubborn if you'd like. I see that as a strength, not buying into or believing other people's claims, without a good explanation behind their theory/hypothesis.
