Brown crediting 'committee' for helping create Cavaliers' winning decisions

John Kuntz/The Plain DealerBy trusting his players to contribute constructively to the leadership of the team, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown says he's a big believer in "The Committee."

On the Cavaliers' official roster registered with the NBA league office, Ben Wallace and LeBron James have been designated as the team captains. That's accurate, but not completely true.
The Cavs have an interesting leadership structure put in place by the team's veterans and coach Mike Brown. It even has its own moniker.
"I call them 'The Committee'," Brown said.
The Committee is made up of James, Wallace, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Mo Williams. They have semi-regular meetings with the head coach in his office and cover everything from disciplinary matters to travel plans to key strategy decisions. It is a cog in Brown's style of being a player-oriented coach.

Loved the way they played last night...I know the Knicks are not a very good team, but it doesn't get any better than 7 guys in double digits...

But I can't stand that everytime we go to NY, NJ, Detroit, or anyone else that ESPN thinks might have a chance at getting LBJ in two years that is all they want to talk about... Just drop it for say at least another year, because he isn't going anywhere this year or next year...

33-14 after 1. The Cavs are really feeling it right now, but they couldn't ask for a better group of teams to have to play 4 in 5 against. There is so much potential on this team it isn't even funny. JJ and the other bench player are getting a lot of PT since Brown is trying to cut minutes during this stretch. The Sonics look like an NBADL team tonight, but that might insult the NBADL.

Who are these Sonics you speak of????

JJ with another great game. I'd say they are pretty close to being 4 deep in big men. Jackson has some potential as well. If you add Lebron playing some 4 in that they are that much deeper.
I don't even know what you add right now with a trade. Maybe a 4 if they are going to let Andy walk. Are the Bucks ready to shop Redd yet? If anything a 2 that can play Kobe would be good. That's the only matchup I don't like with the Lakers.

I heard a three way deal might be in the works...

Cavs lose Wally Szczerbiak, Eric Snow, Anderson Varejao, and Sasha Pavlovic

Gavs get Mike Miller and Antwan Jamison.

Miller and West would be great for us...giving us two great options there. And then Jamison would be the 4 we've been looking for. I think he would be a perfect fit for this offense. I'm not sure we get any better defensively...but I don't think we get worse either. We'd likely get better on the boards, and on the offensive end we'd get a huge boost. I'd love to see Jamison and LeBron on the court together.

Yeah, I agree. I would have liked the Posey pickup, aside from the money he wanted. He can hit the 3, and lock down the other teams best offensive player. I really don't see any other player out there right now who would be a good defensive 2-guard that we could pick up. Any suggestions?

I like that trade a lot really. Two of those players are non-rotation players, and the other two are upgrades from the guys we're giving away. Can you imagine having Delonte or Miller coming off the bench? That would be amazing for our offense, and Jamison isn't a bad defender by any stretch(not as versatile as Andy since he can't really guard Centers).

I don't think it's a NECESSARY trade, but I wouldn't be opposed to it happening.

I'd hate to give up Andy, but I think I'd have to go for that as long as the Cavs don't have to take back any other contracts that are longer than 2 years besides Jamison.

With the way the Cavs are playing right now and the chemistry they have, no way do you mess with the team right now... they're lost 3 games, all on the road, to Detroit, Boston, and New Orleans and they could have won in Detroit and Boston. I say wait and see for a while longer with this group.
