    An Irish trawler scooped up an unusual catch of cannabis worth up to 1.4 million euros (1.9 million dollars) in the Atlantic, customs officials said Tuesday. The discovery of eight bales made up of 200 kilograms (441 pounds) of drugs was made on Monday about 50 miles (80 kilometres) west of Slyne Head, County Galway, western Ireland.

    This may very well point back to a South African syndicate. A very wealthy South African in my suburb has just been arrested in Ireland in respect of a cannibis smuggling operation from SA to Ireland. The colleague who told me this said that SA dope apparently has ten times the active ingredients of the dope typically sold in the US and Europe.
