can the Bucks still win the Big10 ?

I look at the standings and my head starts to hurt. I think we can still win it but we need a lot to happen.


we win the title if.....
-we sweep Minny,
-Penn st wins at least one aginst scUM,
-Indiana wins at least one against Purdue,
-Iowa takes 3 of 4 from Illinois.

This weekend is gonna be fun!



Hats off to the Bucks for winning 7 of 8 on the road, and great job today by trent luyster. We need him pitching well to have any shot to win the Big Ten tourney.


edit: If what i described took place, we would still finish second to Illinois by 4 percentage points. Sorry about that. Second place would still be a wonderful accomplishment considering how awful the Bucks looked at times this season. 2nd place would also give us a bye in the Big Ten tourney.

Since I didn't see a thread on the series at Northwestern, here are the scores (we took the series 3-1):

May 13 - OSU 7, NU 2
May 14 - NU 9, OSU 6 (Game One)
May 14 - OSU 10, NU 2 (Game Two)
May 15 - OSU 1, NU 0 (Trent Luyster two-hitter over seven)

The Buckeyes improved to 31-16 overall and 14-11 in the Big Ten.

OSU's best hope would be to finish second, to get a bye in the first round. That would be accomplished if:

- OSU wins 4/Iowa wins 3 or less/Purdue wins 3 or less; or OSU wins 3/Iowa wins 2 or less/Purdue wins 2 or less
- PSU needs to win at least 1 against mich

Minny took 3 of 4 from Illinois this weekend... very impressive. It might be tough to win 3 of 4 next weekend unless every part of the team is clicking.
