Malachi Nelson (QB Southern Cal, transfer to ???)

Typical off season over analyzing.

It’s not an either/ or situation. You do both...you sign the best you can in each class and if you find yourself approaching a season without a great QB then you land an elite transfer like Burrow or Fields and you get them because you are The Ohio State and not TTUN, Ped State, etc.

As for Makai Lemon, that offer has yet to come, but a source tells Buckeye Scoop that it’s only a matter of time. Lemon currently holds 16 offers.

After playing against each other at the age of 5, the duo joined an all-star team and have played together ever since.

“We’re so close, I mean we’re basically brothers,” said Nelson.

The self-proclaimed brothers have made it all but certain that they want to play together at the next level.

“If an offer presents itself, we’re definitely going to visit Ohio State. Clemson and Oklahoma as well,” said Nelson when asked about the upcoming quiet period.

Anxiously awaiting Drumm and Thune from the Oklahoma 247 site telling everyone who will listen how they’re getting every five star in the country now (spoiler alert: it’s already started).

USC QB Malachi Nelson entering transfer portal, sources say

USC quarterback Malachi Nelson, the No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class, told the Trojans' staff he is entering the transfer portal, sources confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.

Nelson was committed to Oklahoma out of high school, until he decommitted on Nov. 28, 2021, when coach Lincoln Riley left the Sooners to take the same job at USC. Nelson then flipped his commitment to the Trojans to play for Riley.

Nelson also was the No. 1 quarterback in the last recruiting cycle and the top recruit in California, out of Los Alamitos, and he was the national Gatorade player of the year in 2022. He threw for 2,898 yards, 35 touchdowns and 4 interceptions as a senior in high school.

He enrolled early at USC and sat behind starter Caleb Williams this past season. He appeared in just one game, throwing three times and completing one pass, which will allow him to use his redshirt and give him four seasons of eligibility remaining.

Miller Moss steps into USC starting QB role with poise, teammate support

The third-year sophomore has acccomplished everything he can off the field at USC. Now he's ready to accomplish everything he can on the field as the team's starting quarterback.

Just sayin': Is Malachi Nelson transferring because?....
1. Doesn't want to sit behind Miller Moss
2. Just not happy at USC with the coaches and/or homesick, etc.
3. Looking foe a multi million NIL deal.
4. All of the above.

Anyway he could be a very good pick up for some school.
