Zed was always a great guy, great teammate and a productive player. I don't know the details, but my guess is this was more of a mutual parting so OSU could recruit a transfer big more easily, and I'm sure Zed would prefer to start and play more.

Key joins the Flyers after four years as a Buckeye in which he averaged 7.4 points and five rebounds, starting 49 times in 121 career games. He was Ohio State’s starting center for most of the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, but settled into a backup role behind Felix Okpara last season, leading him to transfer elsewhere for his extra year of eligibility.

Hell yeah! It's going to be fun watching Finger Guns play for the Flyers. Something was off with him this year, but huge heart and talent. I think a change will be good for him and he'll have great coaching at UD. Plus we landed the Kentucky center, so I think it works for both sides. Good move Zed.
