C Seth McLaughlin (Official thread)

Hinzman will probably have to go to center and they will have to plug somebody in at guard. They will have to scheme it up.
I’d imagine Seriveld (or however you spell it) goes to LG and Hinzman back to center. That’s still a decent OL but far from the group we started with that’s for sure.

What a shame for a talented team. This was the one group we couldn’t afford injury. Then not only did we lose our best OL but now also maybe our second best.

The bad recruiting has created the nuclear scenario we feared.

I don't think it's over, but it is certainly more difficult. Lol

Chip better start scheming the shit out of this game to help the OL.
nah but some people on 11W (and eventually here) are acting like they might as well forfeit Saturday. I don't even check X or Facebook because I know exactly what will be there.

With the exception of the Nebraska game, Kelly's offense has done exactly that. And it is becoming more apparent that the Nebraska game may have been an aberration for whatever reason, likely due to having the wrong guy in place. They adjusted and moved on.

Injuries are gonna happen. Most teams don't have 6 or 7 proven linemen. Hopefully whoever gets put at Center (probably Padilla) steps up.

For sure not over… but I think it’s foolish to have natty or bust as the expectation as a fan.

If we can beat TCUN that’s a great start. Then take the rest one game at a time.

What I for sure know is we for real can’t take any more losses on the OL.
Oddly enough, the people seemingly acting like the world is over tend to be the Natty or bust crowd. There seems to be an underlying want to blame Day for some reason too.

Meanwhile, back in reality, again, injuries happen in football. There's not much you can do except go to the next guy on the depth chart.

Is that the rumor? I was thinking it makes sense to move Hinzman there and move another OL to guard.

Especially against Scum, because their whole strength of their D is in the middle.

I think it could be Padilla at center or maybe you move Hinzman back to center and put in Austin at LG.

I kinda like the idea of leaving Hinz at LG where he's done very well for himself and see what Padilla can do. Just my personal opinion, the one that matters is in the WHAC.

Issue isn’t the quality of the remaining linemen. We can put together a good line. The issue is the coordination and teamwork going against a couple of teams that do some ‘odd’ stuff up front.
In my IMO, that's a very realistic take (also in the minority in some quarters but I digress). The best thing that could happen is Ohio State comes out and goes right at Indiana. Playing away from the spot where the guy is injured will throw everything else off. Play the game plan and see what happens.
