A welcome addition, he's got the talent, size and experience. Hopefully the rest gets sorted out and if it does, he'll be a big addition that we need. Not sure if this is basically putting a horses head on Hinzman's pillow, but either way it's a great add.

If I’m not mistaken the announcers for the Cotton talked about how Xavier Johnson was brought in and started making the presnap calls once Brown got hurt.
Regardless where Seth ends up, the guy only has allowed 1 sack in over 1823 snaps and 3 years.

Coincidentally, Bama had basically the exact same problem Ohio State did.
A QB who couldn’t throw, a defense bringing the house every play, and an offensive coaching staff that for some reason didn’t adjust at all to that reality and continued trying to let deep (or at least, not quick hitting) routes develop all night, making the QBs and the oline look even worse.
At least we had a freshman third string QB as an excuse and not the starter.

It's a hilariously bad take from some rando internet dude...The idea that a fourth-year, multi-year starter at Alabama still needs to “add bulk” seems like bad analysis, to me.

I’m skeptical that anyone who came from an OL worse than ours is going to be a huge help.
He doesn’t keep our two OT’s from being pedestrian at best or help with the fact no one else on the roster last year could earn playing time from the worst OL we’ve seen in 20 some odd years.
We need a massive overhaul in the OL room, not one “meh” guy.

Recruit better/ get better talent out of the portal
That’s all I’ve got. Of course I don’t get paid $10MM a year like some football geniuses who let things get to this point so maybe the best thing to do is next to nothing.

Well if this guy comes in and locks it down I'm confident we will have at least a fully competent half line starting the Spring with the summer and Fall to shore up the other half. Monty will be starting at one tackle and I expect big things from him

The LG coming back is the guy we saw get blown up on the last play of The Game right?
Then we have last years center and this new guy who we also saw get blown up by tsun a lot in his last game.
That’s locked down and competent? I’ll grant you it’s three live bodies but not sure where anything is magically fixed.

I still put a lot of that bowl game on the position juggling and then having a seriously unproven QB room. The addition of Howard improves that a lot. Continuity along with that should be improvement before we add in the experience jump most get along the way. It won't happen just because but we have to expect it not to just deteriorate and get better with more run blocking
