    the engine control cable on my craftsman push mower broke last night (four years old and kept outside in the winter - i'm not bitching), non of the local sears stores have it in stock, so i have to buy it online - its 12.95 and shipping was $7 - sucks to have to pay so much for shipping for something that only weighs a few ounces and is so cheap!

    Why don't you have your local Sears order it for you? They can call other stores and have it shipped from store to store. It should still take less time than to order one yourself and wait for delivery.

    that was my first thought - then he told me that the earliest they could have one in store was next wednesday - (nearest store to have the part in stock was either in TX or something like that) i should have mine in hand next monday

    Did you tell him if it's going to take more than a whole week, you'll just go ahead and go to Lowes and buy a completely new mower? :wink:

    that would have been pretty fun. i'm going to see if my neighbor will let me borrow his mower for my back yard - it will be a foot high by monday
