I know there are a ton of gun nuts on this board, so I thought this would be a great place to get advice. I'm looking to buy my first AR, probably a carbine style, .223. Looking to spend around a $1000. Next month there is a gun show I am going to and may be buying there depending on what kind of deal I can find. So any newbie advice? Also would it be a bad idea to buy a used AR from non-dealers at the show? I don't have all the lingo down yet, so go easy on the jargon, please.
