The only thing I can think of in ESPN making that statement is that they consider 'Miami of Ohio' to be the university's full title, which is basically only said by people not from Ohio.

The free student tickets are a big reason for great crowds. At OSU there is mostly alumnus it seems...you could almost hear a pin drop for most games. I like watching college games where the majority of the crowd is students who are going to get noisy, as the Raiders crowd did.

That is the total number of students that bought tickets, but they were split into packages of 5 games and some bought all 10 games...
