You know your crappy team has a crappy thread when it takes a Script-bump to make the first page during the season. Stupid Bills always getting bumped for off the field stuff.

Rex is a good hire. I was actually kind of hoping the Niners would give him a look. He was saddled with a crap roster and ridiculous front office. However, Greg Roman is a colossal boob. He is Bollman redux. The thing is, he can in stretches come up with some dynamic game plans, but then he will inexplicably totally go away from it and run his RB into stacked fronts for 45 minutes. And forget in-game adjustments. He ain't got time for that.

So he can run Dave? Because this is shaping up to be a team that's going to be running a lot of Dave.

He loves Dave. This is the guy that tried to turn Kap into a pocket passer behind an injury depleted OL that for long stretches couldn't block a senior citizens shuffleboard squad. And despite Kap being under extreme duress all season, he was totally unaware of simple blitz-mitigation plays like draws, screens, and slants. Just did the same thing game after game after game...let Kap be a sitting duck and run his RBs into stacked fronts. Part of me thinks the entire Niners offensive staff mailed it in this year, so maybe he's rejuvenated, but he has shown the same alarming tendencies since their SuperBowl loss.

Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to give Rex credit. He's parting ways with Shwartz over " differing philosophies" on defense. A top 5 defense that by and far, kept the Bills afloat.

I expect Rex to be gone in 2-3 years.

I had hoped to see Schwartz carried over after such a good last season too, but obviously Rex was going to want to run his system. For all the times Buffalo defenses have changed schemes without regard for the personnel, for once they might actually have the versatility and talent to still be pretty good.
