Read them in my college lit class and learned a great deal about both forms of the religion. Both are very depressing in nature(sorry ladies but there is NO way you can possibly rid yourselves of your karma and have to pray to be born a male in the next life). It's just not for me, cause I believe that life is meant to be enjoyed and I couldn't possibly wish for the end.
Yes. I try to read some texts, and I agree in principle with Theravada Buddhism. There is a Theravada temple up the street from me here in Huber Heights, but I've never been, and have never been involved enough to consider myself a "practicing" Buddhist. At this point, I consider it more of a "way of life" than a religion.
