Syracuse University director of athletics Daryl Gross confirmed he has been asked by Ohio State to be released from a two-game football series between the Orange and Buckeyes with one game in 2007 and the other in 2010. Gross said Ohio State wants a game in Florida or closer to some of its alumni bases. Gross said he'd likely let the Buckeyes out of the contract.

The team most likely to replace Ohio State in those two slots is Texas. Gross said he could have some news next week, including the announcement of a two-game series with Washington.

Sounds good to me. No reason to play a mediocre Big Least team in a dome.

what about UCF? they are an up and coming program, and there is a huge Ohio State Alumni base in the Orlando area... it would be a nice tune up game to get a read on all that FLORIDA SPEED(!)...

Yeah, UCF is a good idea. It would help to strengthen our recruits down in the mid Florida area. If not UCF, then how about South Florida? They are now in C-USA and their coach seems to be turning things around slowly but surely.

that is why i mentioned UCF... we are already scheduled to play the Miami Hurricanes in '10...

i sure as heck wouldn't want to have to play the Gators/Noles, and then have to play the Canes two weeks later... that would be just BRUTAL...

of course, if we won both, we would have a legitimate shot at the Mythical Florida State Championship... :p

er, is it just me, or is the 'edit' function not working?

anyway, i hate when i respond to a post, but then when i send it, SURPRISE! that post isn't there any more...

it makes me look like i'm disagreeing with myself... oh well, it's not like i'm not already half nuts...
