  • Buckeyes crush Harvard 11-0

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. ? Behind a complete game shutout by Jaron Long and a two-home run, six-RBI day from Jacob Bosiokovic, the Ohio State baseball team topped Harvard, 11-0, Friday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 7-4 on the season while Harvard falls to 1-4.
?It definitely helps to get the bats going early because you can pitch a lot more to the middle of the plate,? Long said. ?I tried to keep the ball down and our defense played great. It was a good win to start the trip on the right foot.?
Ohio State took the lead in the bottom of the second against Harvard starter Matt Doyle. Pat Porter led off the innings with a walk and stole second but consecutive groundouts by Brad Hallberg and Mike Carroll left Porter at third with two down. However, Bosiokovic followed with a two-run blast to left, the first long ball of his career, to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead after two innings of play.

Bucks beat Ball State with osugrad21 in attendence

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. ? A three-run home run in the top of the eighth by Jacob Bosiokovic lifted the Ohio State baseball team to a 5-3 comeback win over Ball State Saturday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field. With the win, the Buckeyes improve to 8-4 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 5-8.
Saturday marked the first time Ohio State head coach Greg Beals and assistant coach Mike Stafford faced their former school after the two helped lead the Cardinals to three MAC West Division crowns and an NCAA Regional in their time in Muncie.
?We didn?t get off to a great start but we fought back, put together quality at-bats toward the end and our bullpen did a great job,? head coach Greg Beals said. ?Our guys understood what this game meant to me and they had my back today. It was an interesting day but it was good to see our bullpen come up big and Bosiokovic come through with that home run.?

As osugrad21 looks on, Buckeyes split with Coastal Carolina

    Bucks lose Game 1 3-1

No doubt a little intimidated by the thought of osugrad21 watching, the Buckeyes drop a 3-1 contest to Coastal Carolina.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. ? The Ohio State baseball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Coastal Carolina Sunday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field. The loss drops the Buckeyes to 8-5 on the season while the Chanticleers improve to 7-8.
Coastal Carolina took the early lead in the bottom of the first when Jacob May lined a solo home run down the left-field line off Ohio State starter Brian King to put the Chanticleers up 1-0.
Both King and Coastal Carolina starter Ben Smith cruised through the next four innings until the Ohio State left-hander ran into trouble in the bottom of the sixth. May doubled down the left field to lead off the inning, Jake Kane followed with a bunt single and a wild pitch put runners on second and third with nobody out. Will Remillard then drove in May with a sacrifice fly to right to push the Chanticleer lead to 2-0 after six frames.

Inspired by osugrad21, Buckeyes take down Coastal Carolina in Game 2

With the capo di tutti capi looking on (maybe) the Buckeyes defeat Coastal Carolina to finish the Myrtle Beach trip with a 3-2 win

    http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-basebl/recaps/031113aaa.html

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. ? The Ohio State baseball team won a back-and-forth 3-2 contest at Coastal Carolina Monday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field. The Buckeyes improve to 9-5 with the win while the Chanticleers drop to 7-9.
The Buckeyes took the lead in the top of the third against Coastal Carolina starter Alex Cunningham. Brad Hallberg was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame and Joe Ciamacco followed with a walk but a strikeout and a fielder?s choice put runners at the corners with two down. Ryan Cypret was then able to come through with a single up the middle to drive in Hallberg and give the Buckeyes a 1-0 lead.
Ohio State threatened again in the top of the fourth when a double by Jacob Bosiokovic and a walk by Mike Carroll put runners on first and second but Hallberg grounded into a 5-3 double play to end the threat.
