Ohio State collected 19 hits and battered Bethune-Cookman 9-1 yesterday in a baseball game in Clearwater, Fla.
The Buckeyes (6-4) won their fourth straight game, behind a strong effort from pitchers Jake Hale, J.B. Shuck (2-0) and Rory Meister. The trio combined to scatter six hits and strike out 10.
Ohio State center fielder Matt Angle was 5 for 6 and scored four runs. Shortstop Jedidiah Stephens led off the seventh inning with a single and has hit safely in each of the Buckeyes’ 10 games.
Bethune-Cookman (9-14) scored its run in the ninth when Meister threw two wild pitches and gave up a a sacrifice fly.
In four games in Clearwater, Ohio State had 48 runs and 73 hits.
