    THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Ohio State baseball coaches have spent the better part of the past 72 hours going over strategy for the Big Ten tournament. Do they start left-hander Cory Luebke or right-hander Jake Hale in the first round against Penn State?
Will they play a true freshman double-play combination of shortstop Cory Rupert and second baseman Cory Kovanda?

    Buckeyes crush Penn St

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ohio State used seven shutout innings from Cory Luebke and a 17-hit attack to down Penn State, 10-3, in the first game of the Big Ten tournament Wednesday at Ray Fisher Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The Buckeyes led 7-0 after four innings and Luebke, the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, showed why he was chosen as the league's top pitcher, giving up no runs on three hits in seven innings. The Maria Stein, Ohio (Marion Local) native walked three and struck out three, improving to 8-1 on the season.

I'm not sure I wouldn't have pitched Cory the second game instead. Glad to see us actually come out and play a full game though. It would be great to have Dan D coming out to the mound next but lets hope Jake pitches well and the bats continue to be hot.

I think you've gotta stay out of the loser's bracket as long as possible. Also I'm not sure we'd beat michigan even with Luebke.
Right on Cleve. Of course it would serve us well to never get into that bracket. I dont think we could do well there. At least we have the juices flowing and momentum on our side now.
Game time is 705 tonight ; sure would be nice to kick some wolverweinie butt.
    :oh:
