Since everyone is a celebrity on this board (of their own right).....why not? 8 Songs. What is on your playlist and why.

Doesn't Remind Me of Anything/Audio Slave - Cool song. Loved Chris Cornell with Soundgarden and who could think of a better duo than Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine?

Bam Thwok/The Pixies - I like the chemistry between Frank Black and Kim Deal

The W.A.N.D./Flaming Lips - Good cutting edge stuff from people that brought you 'Yoshima Battles the Pink Robots'.

New Slang/The Shins - Good to listen to on a cold winter night when you are driving by yourself.

Communicate/Strive Roots - A great counterculture song. Wish I heard this when I was a teenager but the lyrics and beat are still good.

The Delicate Place/Spoon - A great song by one of the newer good bands.

Galvanize/The Chemical Brothers - Listened to this while I was skiing this winter in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Hate to Say I Told You So/The Hives - Raw, Cool, Awesome

Bkb is right. IPOD is a new phenomenom.

I think you can link the celebrity playlist here.

Actually, tried the link. I don't know if it works but if you do a web search for ipod celebrity lists you may grab it.

A celebrity gives their take on their playlist and why it's cool. Everyone from Kiefer Sutherland to Ben Folds to Hannah Teter.

The W.A.N.D. kicks ass, great political song.

The White Stripes - Death Letter (live) -- Why? Because no other song kicks this much ass live.

The Small Faces - Itchycoo Park -- If you ever just want to feel good, this song is trippy.

Radiohead - Paranoid Andriod -- Awesome song, awesome guitar solo.

The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes -- New, different and catchy.

Wilson Pickett - In the Midnight Hour -- good soul song

ok I'm stopping here time for Lost

The Chieftains - Morning Dew. I want to walk down the aisle to this song (if we have an actual wedding ceremony)

Bob Dylan - Shelter from the Storm. My favorite from the master.

The Shins - New Slang. Wow, ekeen and I agree on something!

Cake - Stickshifts and Safetybelts. This is such a fun song. I love Cake's lyric's, and this one's my favorite (and I drive a stickshift).

Richard Thompson - 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. Red hair and black leather -- Manfred's favorite color scheme.

Johnny Cash - One Piece at a Time. This song cracks me up every time I play it. Fun lyrics.

Dar Williams - Flinty Kind of Woman. This song is about a pervert who is on the loose in New England, and a bunch of hippie women hunt him down. It's hilarious.

Deb Talan - Ashes on Your Eyes. My favorite singer-songwriter. Her voice is gorgeous.

Gillian Welch - Annabelle. This is a really sad song. I love it so much.

Patty Griffin - Long Ride Home. Another really depressing song. It makes you

Grateful Dead - Uncle John's Band. Goddamn, I declare, this is a great song!

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah. This is such a haunting song. Buckley's version is the best.

Nickel Creek - The Lighthouse's Tale. Beautiful, tragic song.

Kirsty McCall - In These Shoes. I doubt you'd survive.

Indigo Girls - Power of Two. As cheesy as this may sound, when Manfred and I first started dating, after a few pints we sang this song in Byrne's Pub! That's when I knew it was meant to be!

Are you saying it's time for me to upgrade my 8-track player?

Nah. Although, you may look in to a reel to reel. Those things rock, plus, I hear you can play shit backwards.

Sushi - Morning Dew - ever heard the Grateful Dead's version? (I'm assuming it's the same tune) The way they played it circa 1968 was awesome, but not wedding walking appropriate. By 1977 it had become more of a wedding walking appropriate tune.

Nope, not the same song. The Chieftains' song is an instrumental Celtic ditty with lots of drum and penny whistle.

Mine's sole purpose is for working out. that explains the dust on it.

Mr Scary - Dokken. Driving double bass and great licks

The Thing I Hate - Stabbing Westward. If this song doesn't get your blood pumping, virtually nothing will.

Disposable Heroes - Metallica. Nuff Said

Hell Awaits - Slayer

Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck - Prong

Peace Sells - Megadeth

In My World - Anthrax

Man In The Box - Alice In Chains
