We just mailed the last chunk of money off for the new server(s), so we're officially on fully owned hardware again. :) Thanks to everyone who participated in the drive this year. With the economy and the nightmarish off-season we all knew this would be a down year, but we're still on new highly-powerful servers as the direct result of your contributions, and I greatly appreciate that. Despite all the nutkicks this off-season, I'm actually looking forward to the football season insofar as it will be the first in years that we're not going to have to stress about the server keeping up with load during games.

There's still more we want to do before the season, so this doesn't mark the end of the drive. I hope anyone who regularly enjoys the site, but has never contributed, will consider doing so for the first time. Even little amounts add up, particularly if it's set up monthly. BP was always meant to be free, but it's user contributions that keep the power on and the bandwidth flowing.

Anyway, thanks and congrats for paying off the new hardware!

Just post-padding to show-off my four banners in support of this phantasmagorical community Clarity has created, without a shred of inkling where it was all headed, armed only with a philosophy of open but responsible community, and organized around a simple interest - all things Buckeye - BuckeyePlanet has become an integral part of my daily life. I may not post much (I've got more than a full-time job), but I am more engaged and alive for your discussions and opinions (even those idiotic) than I would be otherwise.

You don't need a paypal account to use paypal to donate. I have no account with them, yet have used paypal for all of my donations.
