Fantasy BuckeyePlanet Fantasy Football - Keeper League (R.I.P.)

Just a reminder, keepers are due tomorrow night. I think some flexibility with the deadline is in order though giving my lateness in getting the league history sorted out this year and the transition to BP 2.0 and the reality of the forums being down periodically.

Good draft all. Sorry about the mix-up on the 9th/10th picks. I must have clicked wrong somewhere and by the time it was noticed it was too late to fix it.

I'm happy with my draft at the moment. I considered four guys as keepers from last year's roster, and I ended up being able to draft the two that I didn't keep (Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson). I didn't expect Lynch to be there at all, but I put him back out there becuase he would have cost me a first rounder regardless, and with my draft position I was guaranteed a RB that I would have found acceptable. I thought I was going to be choosing between Rice, Charles and Richardson. I opted to keep Maurice Jones-Drew with my second round pick. He didn't represent much of a value there - it's possible that I could have got him back if I put him back out there, but I wanted to go RB-RB in the first two rounds and I wasn't confident that I'd have an equivalent option available at my spot if somebody else took him.

If my WRs reproduce their numbers from last season, I'll be in good shape. It looks like I have a lot of guys who maybe had flukish numbers last year who might not fare as well this season. That's the trade-off for going so heavy on RBs like I did early.

I feel like I had a good team last season, but injuries ruined it. I think my team lacks depth in terms of starters and reliable production, but my bench is more conservative now with handcuffs for Gronkowski and for Gore.

I went earlier than I like for defenses but I felt I had to. Another thing that hurt me last season was I was too slow to move on the waiver wire to pick up a good option and I ended up giving up points to opponents every week as a result. Having felt satisfied that I had the offense shored up enough, I made sure to grab one that I thought would be a plug-in-and-forget-it option.

Percy Harvin was in my queue for most of the draft. I was worried somebody else might be thinking along the same lines as I was and get him just before I planned to pull the trigger. If he makes it back this season he could provide a big boost. If not, I only used a final-rounder on him. It's a lottery ticket.

Great draft guys. Looking back at the teams that were drafted, this might be the most competitive year yet... and that's really saying something after last year.

I'm taking a "wait and see" approach with my draft this year, but feel much better than last year. I hope picking Larry Fitzgerald instead of DeMarco Murray doesn't come back to haunt me... he would have made a pretty bad ass RB3 on this team behind Peterson and Foster. Banking pretty hard on Matt Ryan, as Mike Vick and Eli Manning got snatched up a little sooner than I'd hoped. How things shook out, everyone on my team is pretty well spread out as far as bye weeks go... just kinda happened that way by accident. Hoping the injury bug stays away from my team this year, as my team had it pretty bad last year.

Really happy to get Ben Tate handcuffed to Arian Foster and didn't have to reach for him. Excited to see what DeSean Jackson can do in that new offense in Philly. Taking risks on Greg Jennings catching balls from Christian Ponder in Minnesota, as well as on DeAngelo Williams in Carolina, but both were worth the risks for where I picked them. I was planning on drafting Percy Harvin in the 14th or 15th depending on when I took a kicker, thinking I would be in the clear either way... I'll never draft a kicker before the 15th ever again (great pick up, jlb). Taking a flyer on good ol' TP instead as Ryan's back-up. If he can do big things for the Raiders (a BIG if), my thought is he'll be worth his weight in fantasy gold.

Well I got a [Mark May]ty grade but I was pretty happy with it. I have 2 QBs that I can't play both, but I couldn't pass on Brees in the third.
Like I said in the draft, Brees in round three was an absolute steal. I didn't know you had used a keeper pick on a QB already, but you couldn't have passed that up. Very commendable selection.

Agree with Smudger. I was surprised he made it to the third and there was definetly a "damn it!" on my end when you picked him.

Glad I took the flyer. Seriously considering starting him next week against the Jags over Matt Ryan.

Well, unless Garcon lays a major egg, I'm off to an 0-1 start. As usual, my RB2 position will kill my team. I sure as hell kicked the shit out of your bench with Boldin though, Rake Fight
