Will only 3 RB's effect practice?

I am wondering if having only (recruited) 3 rb's on the team adversely impact practice. In general, Haw Pittman and Wells will all need to get reps w/ the 1 offense. You need all three to be ready to play on Saturday. Also, some of them will be used on special teams.

The scout team offense will probably use walk ons at RB vs. the 1 defense.
I'm not sure how scout team is set up normally, but many teams actually run two scout team offense groups at the defense to get maximum reps. So you probably need two scout rb's. Also, a scout team Rb is a higher injury risk than most other postions.

Will not having top quality D1 backs on scout team be a disadvantage? Will someone be like Russell be moved to RB to get additional speed to challenge the defense ?

it will definitely have an impact on practice. competition preopels players and teams to great things.

Not only that, think back to what happened 2 years ago after clarett was suspended...
both backs were banged up, and we had no one to run the ball in practice.

Lenix has said that he will start out at RB. Since we don't need him at LB or S next year, I would think he will redshirt and be used as a practice/emergency RB. Although come to think of it, he would be awesome on ST, so maybe there goes the red shirt. A Russell certainly will redshirt, and can fill the same role to give the D good looks during practice.
If they get really desperate, i am waiting by my phone for the call!! It wouldn't do them much good to get just one run out of a practice back though.

Lenix has said that he will start out at RB.

Where did that come from?

If anybody gets moved for practice or scout team purposes look for Anderson Russell.

Nothing to back it up but I am still looking for Ira Guillford to return as well.

As far as Wells, Haw and Pittman the limited number will only help them. They will see more reps with first and second team and the confidence factor will definitely be there in the beginning.

As far as team depth of course it will hurt, but like some other guys have already said Russell, Lenix and possibly Guilford will be there for scout team and any walk-ons we don't already know about. The FB situation is a little less stable in my opinion than even the runningbacks. Either way injuries could decimate our chances at a great season.

Based on my conversations with Doc, I think you will see Haw and Pittman share time, Wells may get a RS, and Johnson share time with White and Schnittker.

IMO, I don't see Lenix moving over, other I did not ask that question directly, I just don't see it happening at all.

Haw, Pittman and Wells should be enough for this team this year. When we throw in Beanie next year, we're stacked.

At Fullback, Schnittker should be the starter, but Johnson will play a bunch and could pry the starting job from Brandon by the Northwestern game. People tend to forget just how good a receiver Schnittker is. Stan White I can see as an H-back type in heavy sets.

I would see Russell moving to HB before Lenix. All of that depends on the return of Ira Guilford. If Ira gets back in good graces and is allowed to return on his own dime, he could be a huge addition to the practice squad and be back on scholarship is senior year.
