David Patterson and three of his senior teammates will participate in the The Main Event.

Oct. 15, 2006
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Four Ohio State football seniors combine forces off the field on Monday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in St. John Arena to give back to the Buckeye community that supports them throughout their season.
Roy Hall, David Patterson, Joel Penton and Stan White Jr. along with Ohio State Head Coach Jim Tressel and former Ohio State quarterback Craig Krenzel, will turn the tables at the end of the month to support their fans at "The Main Event," a program supported by The Ohio State University Football Athletes in Action and Central Ohio Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
In effort to tell their own personal stories, the players are inviting the public to the Ohio State campus to listen in on their candid discussions. The team members will share their accounts of faith and football, aiming to convey how Christianity affects their lives - on and off the field.
"We want to show the fans that we are rooting for them," senior fullback Stan White said.
The evening will kick off with members of The Ohio State Marching Band, Ohio State Cheerleaders and Brutus Buckeye spreading the pride, followed by insight into the lives of the guest speakers.
"I'm excited to join Coach Tressel and the players to show my appreciation to the fans by sharing with them what is most important in our lives," Krenzel said.

To end the night with a grand finale, fans will hear from Coach Tressel himself, who will convey the role Christianity plays in his life.
"We hope this is something that will touch lives," Tressel said.
Other guest speakers from the gridiron have been invited to join the celebration. James Laurinaitis, Vernon Gholston, Marcus Freeman and many more Buckeyes will be in attendance for the event that was initiated and planned by their four senior teammates.
"The fans always see us play football on Saturdays. Hopefully Buckeye Nation will pack out St. John Arena to hear what we have to say on October 30th," senior defensive tackle and co-captain David Patterson said.
The doors of St. John Arena will open at 6 p.m., with kickoff starting at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 people through the door will receive a photo signed by one of the participating players. Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and large crowds are anticipated.
