Buckeye Secondary - 2005

There is still a "?" at the boundary, but I think that will go away after the Texas game. The young corners looked pretty good in the spring game, and we have a possible stud (O'Neal) coming in. Youboty is about as close as you get to a lockdown corner (doesn't exist) in college football.

I'm a little confused reading all the college football previews...What positions are Tyler Everett and Donte Whitner lining up at this season? Half of the previews I read have Whitner at safety and the other half have him at CB and Everett filling the other spot (be it safety or CB).

So, what are they playing this year?

I wonder why he was called a CB out of highschool? His clips all showed him as a hard hitting safety.
He was heavily thought to be moved to safety, gleeful OSU fans hoped he would replace Fox and be another Gamble type... its pretty hard to know how a guy will do at CB until you get him in (ie EJ looked great in man to man, but stunk in a zone)

I know alot of it might be due to Duane Long saying that forever. He has finally changed his thinking. Of course when you have two other incoming freshmen that are lighting it up at that position and looking like naturals, its easy to move him over.

I am no football coach but he never looked like a CB to me, Safety all the way. He had the speed to be CB but I never saw the hips or read on the WR, especially in the AllStar game. He should be a nasty safety though, with his size, speed and athletic combination - another potential AA boys. I know, I know, lets see him play first...
