Sorry Wad. I didn't see this until now. It was fine when I was there. I like playing there cause it's pretty cheap and I usually play with my grandfather there. He is 92 and it's a short couse which helps him get around.wadc45;834241; said:how's Minerva holding up, nasty?
I noticed you have been playing there a lot based on the Yahoo golf group thing. What is it like there? Is there another course that is similar to it that you know of? Just wondering because I have never played there. :)wadc45;874944; said:Playing tomorrow at Hickory Hills...been playing a lot out there lately (pops is a member).

Ok thanks for the info. Yeah I just never played there and wondered if it was similar to any other courses. Good luck tomorrow I hope you play well.wadc45;874981; said:Hickory is a short course...not terribly challenging. Biggest drawbacks is the lack of consistency out of the sand. The greens are the biggest challenge...very fast and lots of undulation. I've watched good putters three putt from inside ten feet. They are fairly true but the speed can be tough to gauge. Being in the fairway off the tee is the biggest thing...you can throw up a decent number if you can live in the fairway. The last three rounds I've played there I haven't taken the driver out of the bag...been hitting 3-wood off the tee because I can keep it in the fairway and still leave myself some short irons in.
