Buckeye Job Fair (plan for life after football)

I recall Coach Meyer saying (on his radio show) that three companies wanted to hire Joshua Perry last year, even though he still had school left.

Good deal for all.
Joshua Perry is a terrific athlete who might do better financially to elect not to pursue an NFL career. He's going to do extremely well in business, from all indications.

PHOTOS: OHIO STATE'S FOURTH ANNUAL JOB FAIR

Ohio State and Urban Meyer recruit the best football talent in the country into their program with every intention to send it to the NFL. There must be a plan for life after football, however, whether you turn pro or not.

That's why Meyer and the Buckeyes held their fourth annual job fair at the Huntington Club in Ohio Stadium on a sweltering Wednesday in Columbus. Athletes from the football, swimming, women's volleyball, women's basketball and other Buckeye athletic programs participated, but Meyer's group led the charge.

"We're taking it a step further, we're teaching you how to be able to provide, have a nice life, have something so when the football stops, the cheering stops, you can handle yourself," Meyer told his team moments before it mingled with close to 60 businesses and corporations.

In conjunction with Meyer's Real Life Wednesdays program, the job fair is an opportunity for football players to network and develop the groundwork for relationships for the future.
