JL was at Fairfield commons last night. I didn't know until I saw a line a mile long...honestly, it was staggering how many people showed up.

Hartline will be with Beanie in Toledo on Saturday from 1-3 at D&D Sports. Malcolm a week later at the same place.

Anyone know of any future autograph sessions that will be allowing items to be brought in? I have done body paint for 6 different players and am trying to get each picture autographed: Beanie, Malcom, Boeckman, Hartline, Small, Laurinaitis.

On The Buckeye Rooms website they have listed for Beanies session on the 10th that items will be available for purchase at the signing. So I assume that means items can't be brought in like the previous sessions. Any way to get around that this year or will I have to wait till next year to get the autographs?

I was told today that if you are getting a picture signed, it needs to be a licsensed copy. tOSU/NCAA is cracking down (as it was told to me) on people selling mass produced pictures. From what i was told, if you want to buy a picture, it needs to have their seal of approval.

any truth to this??

Don't even get me started on this. Someone else who also knows the deal should chime in here. Perhaps a disgruntled store owner or perhaps even a fan? It's a COMPLICATED ISSUE at the least! Just wait until all the "facts" come out and you can make a good conscious decision on what you, the customer, want to buy? FWIW it's NOT the NCAA. I'll stop right there.

it's the promoters colts fans. For example, you can buy a photo at Ohio Sports Marketing for 5.95 most of their shots SUCK. The only photo they have that is decent is Beanie hurdling the Illinois guy. however, you can go to Untitled Document and buy an 8x10 for 15-18 dollars that are MUCH BETTER quality. Most of the 6 dollar photos are not action shots at all. The 6 dollar photos are printed on luster type paper, while the better ones are glossy. Basically what it comes down to is that promoters are buying a shit ton of cheap photos at a great price, selling them to you at 5 bucks, so they're making probably 3bucks if not more, as opposed to buying better photos and making less money OR letting you buy a photo from wherever you want to and making no money on their pictures.

Well I'm not going to say much about that "up there" ^^^^ but it's a "dirty business" with these promoters, well PROMOTER (singular). They (HE) want(s) to ELIMINATE the photographer! When I say ELIMINATE, I mean ELIMINATE!

BTW Luster photo paper is my preferred choice of media b/c it is less susceptible to finger prints and oil etc especially on bigger prints like 11x14 and larger. Glossy is a choice of a lot of fans but I don't like it for the reason stated above. Now METALLIC paper, that's a whole other ball of wax! That schit rocks!

Regarding Coltsfans original question...go read these threads and see how "muddy" the waters have been over the years and they still are. There are attempts to clear the waters but it's not really getting less "murky" with the current status quo and quite frankly like I said, in my opening statement...it's "dirty"!

they have tried numerous times, each time they walk away empty handed. heck i even know that people on this very board have contacted OSU in regards to me specificaly. every single time we end our "conversations" the same way, me getting a letter saying that i am in no way commiting any infractions. now, if this were how i made money, it would be a different story.

from what OSU has told me is that they are concerned with people making money off of the players with time remaining at OSU.

Ok, go into ANY store selling #2 jerseys and tell me they're not making money off of TP or MJ? Let's not be blind here! It works BOTH ways. Collegiate Athletics is nothing more than a BUSINESS these days, simple as that and they should recognize it as such if they want to be honest about it all. What was the "BIG" news out of Ohio State this past week? OSU Athletics in the "red". How is that NOT business? Let's get real here!

right, wrong or indifferent it makes no impact. at the end of the day, they make the rules and change them as they see fit.

as for walking into a store and seeing jerseys of popular players....scarlet knight made money off of every replica jersey they sold this past season. yet nobody sees them as the bad guy, only the school. everybody is trying to make money off of current star players. the school is doing what they can to protect their property (players).

getting back to the original question...i assume i should just call ahead about having to buy a store supplied photo.

Yeah, especially since Pryor's going to be #11 next year anyway. So you will buy the #2 and then have to buy the #11 just to get Pryor's jersey.

the damn dispatch is selling 8x10s for 35bucks, tell me they're not making money off of guys, and half their pics from this season are TP. maybe my luster and glossy analogy was wrong, their paper is thinner, so I just assumed it was luster....I too prefer luster when doing home photos.

not anymore. i was just on the site. i couldn't find any recent stuff, even from any of the guys who just left. i thought they had a cool pic i was going to try to get. lol. maybe that solved the issue of taking a pic to a signing.
