I didn't want to start a new thread for this, and it doesn't exactly fit with this thread (autograph sessions), yet an autograph is involved.
Friday night was the main fundraiser for the youth football league in which I coach. It is a reverse raffle dinner. There is a main board, several side boards, Chinese auction items, and some silent auction items. There is also an open bar which means I never drive home from this event .
Well one of the silent auction items was an OSU #10 jersey, beautifully framed, and autographed by Troy Smith. I mentioned to Mrs. buckiprof how sweet it would look in our Buckeye basement and didn't think anymore about it.
A couple of hours later, when they announced the silent auction winners, I wasn't paying any attention...I was at the bar doing some shots actually. After the shots, I grabbed a couple of beers and headed towards our table. Once there I was standing and talking to some folks when my wife comes up, lugging this huge framed #10 jersey autographed by Troy Smith, and tells me "Merry Christmas Honey!". I about pissed my pants!
I think I actually had that feeling that young ones have on Christmas morning when they receive that one gift that they really, really wanted. The only difference is, I still had a couple of more hours of drinking.
