OWUBuckeye51

is not receiving a bail out
THIS whole situation makes me want to drop the loudest F bomb on Jim Delany, cable companies, et al's pompous heads...

The fact that I spend >$100 a month for cable/internet and probably can't experience, unless I pretend I am my grandfather listening on the radio to Hop Cassady and company in the 50s, the joy of Buckeye football makes me want to puke.

This is absurd. I know I am part of the problem b/c I am not offering up a solution, but I don't know what solution would be available short of a last minute stay of execution on ESPN/ABC getting all Buckeye Games...latest rumblings are that commercial (aka bars) establishments with DirecTV subscriptions won't be able to access the BTN b/c the bastards @ BTN are limiting it to residential subscribers only.

It is killing me - we only get 12-14 games a year - and these nimrods are taking it away in light of the almighty dollar. Even if it isn't a marquee game, we only get so many of these to enjoy and savor!!!!

If I can't see that game on 9/1, I am going to craft a voodoo doll of Jim Delany, stick a Time Warner/Insight/Comcast golf shirt on him and take a giant deuce on it.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Waaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sick and tired of listening to eveyone bitch and moan about this whole thing, esp. the people that are in columbus. There are plenty of ways to get to see the game if you want to.

Quit your whining and do something about it. Get off your ass and go to a game. Listen to it on the radio. Plenty of ways to see/hear the game, suck it up and deal with it.

As for the comment about bars not beign allowed to show the game...I would LOVE to see where you hear that from.

Yes, because if you have a cable company that is not going to have the BTN, not only can you not watch it in your house, but you can not go to the stadium and try to buy a ticket, What about people who don't live in Ohio? and you can not go to a sports bar that is showing the game, so you are SOL. I have heard commercial establishments will not be able to broadcast BTN...with the exception of the VC

I have the luxury of living in Ohio, but what about people that don't live in Ohio? And why should I have to suck it up and deal w/ it? What was wrong w/ being able to see every game?

I would pay for BTN IF IT WAS OFFERED TO ME!!!!! I can't get DirecTV b/c of trees and my cable company doesn't offer it...so tell me what I do here genius?

Drive to campus, drive to BW3s. tell me, who told you that only the vc would be able to show it? Are they going to somehow block it from every other business in the US except for the varsity club? Please tell me how they manage that

Where the fuck did you hear that? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Where do you live BTW?

:slappy:

Your post made me LOL...I live in Columbus...like I said, I love going to games and bought Akron tix to compensate for the chance it wouldnt be televised.

I remember hearing Bruce Hooley on 1460 mention that BTN would block commercial subscribers...could be a vicious rumor (and probably is), but if it is true...it is very frustrating.

DirecTV is available everywhere.

Cable TV isn't a right last time I checked.

I realize that. But DTV doesn't have reception if you don't have a clear view of the southern sky. in my case, my neighbors tree line block my view of the southern sky. I even had a DTV guy come out and he said there's no way I could get DTV.

Cable TV isn't a right. But if they are going to take away something I was able to see last year, does this mean they are going to take something off my bill?

Bruce Hooley mentioned it a few weeks back on 1460.

I agree it sounds ridiculous...but i think it has something to do w/ the fact that OSU's cable system (which is independent of TWC, Insight or Comcast) will have BTN on it.

How do you like them apples?

What does that have to do with the Dire3ct tv? Dumbest comment ever.

Besides have you ever been to a tailgate? You know most of the people down there have the dishs on their busses. Make freinds with one of them, if you can't get in the game yo ucan see it on tv there and enjoy being on campus.
And you made the comment about them taking something away from you so you should be charged less. Did you have BTN last year? nope. So they didn't take anything away from you.

They're black, you jackass.

Bullshit. If you look really close you can see that they would appear green if they were on here.

Oh sh%t...I now see the folly of my argument. Wow...that's what happens when you are tryinbg to get something posted before a 430 conference call.

I have no idea why that's in my head. If it isn't true, please refute it.

I didnt have BTN, but I had Buckeye games on the TV. That has been taken away from many...thanks to BTN and Cable Co pissing match.
