This came up today..I'm not sure if it was blank because of the configuring I was using above,but it was blank...BP was the only site I was on at the time as well. I opened task manager to see if there were any odd ball 3rd party progs eating my computer,and it's normal. Hope this helps..No biggie to me,but I figured i'd report it.

Just had an ad flat out close down my browser...not lock it up, but close it down. Only had one browser window open and it only had one tab open (IE 7.0.6001.18000 on Vista). Only one else have this happen?

It's a new ad campaign called "go read a book." I kid, of course. This could have just been a normal browser crash, even if you rarely/never have those. Still, if it happens again, let me know.

The only times IE has closed like that have been on sites with Flash or Active-X type ad banners (had some real problems at SportsIllustrated's site a few months back where the browser would close every third or fourth time I'd go there). This was the first time it had happened here...

Wow. After several weeks with no problems, BP is now freezing up IE about every 20 times I change location on the site.
Don't know if it is related, but around the top banner Ad (which is heavily shrunken) I see code.

var test_syndslot_render = function(){ if (typeof(test_syndslot_results) == "undefined") return; var sr = test_syndslot_results.searchResults; if (!sr || !sr.searchEvents || sr.searchEvents.length <= 0) return; var html = "
==============================
then the ad then more code
==============================
" var splitDate = sr.searchEvents[0].date.split(" "); var time_field = "TBD" if (splitDate[3] == "at"){

This is in Firefox 3.0.6 on Vista

Odd... I'll look in the forum code but don't recognize that at all, so it's probably the ad code that is being pulled in. [edit - found nada] When you say it's around the shrunken ad, is it still all in the boundry where the ad usually is?

Right now, the ad is trying to load a .gif that doesn't seem to be working (http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-a3g2Mplggde4A.gif). I am getting some delay, and a weird light blue ad-sized rectangle that flashes quickly and disappears rather than an ad, and that's it. Just copying the url and sending it hangs the browser, and when it eventually says "Done," nothing appears. [edit - a few ads showed the last few page loads, and a few said "failed to connect." It seems the ad server is just having some issues.]

[edity edit edit - had sandgk's error, here 'tis]

I believe this was a temporary problem with one of YardBarker's ad servers, which appears (as I type this) to have been resolved.

By all means, if you continue to see these problems, let me know and I'll start sending emails.

It's been pretty good for a while, disappointed there have been problems again, but hopefully it was just a momentary glitch.

Anyone else? I have Firefox and MSIE each on 5 minute reloads, and haven't seen any issues today (or at all since the thick of this thread). Doesn't mean what Max is seeing isn't happening, but it's always a question of which end is having the problem.

Max, do you use NoSpam! (a Firefox extension)?
