Great comments, all. I'm not a Browns fan, nor am I a Browns hater, so I hope that my remarks have some objectivity:
1. Butch Davis drafted like the Browns are a player or two away from the Super Bowl. It is unprecedented for a 5-11 team to trade up twice in the first two rounds, costing themselves two draft picks in the process (one of which was the no. 37 pick overall), and then to draft a back-up quarterback with their next highest pick (especially when there were a ton of functional quarterbacks available in the late rounds). Simply stupid, and proves yet again that Butch does not know how to draft.
2. The Browns' first two picks were for "low value" positions - TE and safety. Not many NFL teams are willing to mortgage a draft to pick TE's and safeties.
3. Butch got snookered by the Lions, who were going to take Roy Williams all along; the Lions had Williams at the top of their board, period.
4. Butch drafted another low character guy. The locker room should be fun with Sista Soldja constantly spouting her mouth off.
