Browns at Buccaneers(-3.5)

I think Tampa is an up and comer this year. They are building a team that will attack the weaknesses in that division. Depending on the two rooks at WR I think this might be an L to start the year. I got Tampa in this one, put some good money on it.

Huggins is the real deal, guy is gonna be fun to watch this season.

There's a super bowl champion, a team that finished 8-5 with 2 1000 yard rushers, and a team with a top 5 back, a top 10 QB and a strong defense...what weaknesses are there in that division, exactly?

The UFO Defense will confuse the hell out of Tampa Bay. 300K on my Browns:crazy:

Watch for variations of the UFO, such as the 1-9-1 curbstomp and the 1-8-3 zone twatrocket blitz. I look for Roth at the OOOLB (outside outside outside linebacker spot) to have a huge year.

Both the Panthers and Falcons have had major issues with stopping the pass. Tampa really went out on a limb to grab two top of the line WRs early. Mike Williams for all the trouble he had in college looks like he will be a steal. Pair him up with the soulja and however they work out their RB rotation. Last year they tried to divide it up with Caddy 2 carries, Earnest 1 carry and then D Ward would get 2 carries so no one really got going. The Falcons needed some pash rush and corners pretty bad, taking Weatherspoon probably gives them the best LBs they have had 15 years, still the BUCs got some guys to exploit their defense. The Panthers are really behind the ball on defense, there is no way they will be able to defense both the pass and run of Tampa this year.

Defensively they had some crazy issues and they did some things that will work, but the division is so diverse with the Saints throwing at will and the Panthers being a grind it out team. Should be interesting to see how the Panthers work out their offense, last season DWill got 63% of the carries to JStew's 37%, that is when both played in the same game. CAR could be looking to change things up as DWill's contract is up and Fox likes to run the crap out of vets(SDavis, DFoster etc) so they probably let him walk and diversify the offense with the money they save. Then you have ATL that is pretty hard to defense because they are balanced. The interesting thing about them is bringing in LBs to defense Turner and Gonzo in the redzone is tough so they went out and got guys to slow them down in that area. Panthers line looks bad, Tampa added some guys that will destroy the weak interior of that line.

For sure. He has been the 1st/2nd best rookie QB to this point. Laugh it up now, but when this guy is making a difference and Colt McCoy is a boderline practice squad player, you know I am bumping all of those old posts.

Colt McCoy was taken two rounds later? Clausen should be a better pro.

These might be the worst two teams in the NFL. My money is on the Refs

Nah, the Bills are worse than both. The Browns will surprise a couple teams and win a few. They're not as bad as people think they are.

And...? Whether or not Clausen actually turns out to be good is immaterial at this point. People are just making fun of your obvious fetish - so go ahead and bump all these Clausen posts in a year or two, and see who's point you actually end up proving.

I think Shawn Lauvao hurts a little. Must be injured.
TAMPA -- Linebacker David Bowens, who thought he might not make the Browns' 53-man roster, is among the club's inactive players for their opener against Tampa Bay.

It snaps a streak of 100 consecutive games played for Bowens -- fifth-longest active among NFL linebackers.

Other inactives: Receiver Carlton Mitchell, safety Nick Sorensen, linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, guard Shawn Lauvao, center Steve Vallos and tight end Alex Smith. Colt McCoy is the designated third quarterback.

Some like it hot: When the Browns arrived at Raymond James Stadium at around 10 a.m., the temperature was already over 90 degress and humidity was 82 percent. The Browns have to wear their brown jerseys because Tampa Bay chose, wisely, white.
