The future's so bright, I've gotta wear... shades.
OK, ran across this while looking through the news this morning.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!?!?!?

Not only that, but there is this from the article:

(Linda Faust is the creator of My Little Pony)

"There are a lot of people who when they first hear about men watching a show for little girls, they're taken to a creepy place," she said. "They think there's something wrong with that, something devious about it. I think that's unfortunate.

"I don't think you have to have bad intentions to like little girls or to like the things that they like," Faust said. "And it's upsetting to me that people jump to those conclusions. I think it's unfair to men and I think it's unfair to girls and women.

Wow. And this woman sees nothing wrong with grown men doing this and "liking little girls" in this way? Did she graduate from Ped State?

Yeah, it's the usual teenager "I really like this, and I am so cool because I like something I shouldn't. You are so lame if you tell me I shouldn't like this." The whole "it's cool because it's ironic" angle that teenage boys try to pull off these days. Then add in the socially awkward idiots who will cling to any trend in order to feel accepted, and you have Bronies. The sad thing is they actually convince themselves it's cool and has great writing. 5 to 10 years from now they will look back and realize "holy crap I was a huge douchebag idiot." Until then, they will just have to put up with everyone else thinking of them that way.

The sad thing is they will not have the nostalgia that I have with the Simpsons. Not only are the old shows still funny as hell, but they bring back great memories with my friends. They have to watch a little girls show and wonder what the hell they were thinking (in the mean time pondering why they are still 30 year old virgins).

I may be mistaken, but the whole My Little Ponies and "Bronies" fad started on 4chan and was picked up by message board trolls after that. They had to enact bans as people were constantly posting MLP captioned pictures, kind of like Lolcats.
