Broncos fire Josh McDaniels

i must say, as a fellow john carroll graduate i was really pulling ofr mcdaniels. i didn't want him as a coach for the browns because of inexperience, but still wished him well. he made it impossible for himself to keep that job however. he got rid of anyone with talent on offense and got caught cheating. most of all, he didn't win. to me, this fire was warranted.

also, i feel really bad for anyone who has to come in after him and clean up one of the biggest messes in the nfl. a beat down defense, injuries on offense, tim tebow and brady quinn as your future qbs, and an owner with an itchy trigger finger to fire coaches. i don't wish that job on my worst enemy.

If the Broncos want to get rid of Saint Tim I'd give them Jake Delhomme and a 7th round pick. The Browns could use another H-back/Gator package to go with Flash and Cyclone. :p

All we need then is to draft Greene the UGA WR in the first round this year, line up all 4 in some sort of single wing wishbone veer CF, and we can all it the Flashing Cyclone Gator-Dog. Or something.

Wallace takes the snap, has the option to hand it off to Tebow up the middle, reverse action by Green, and Cribbs on the pitch sweep. UNSTOPPABLE!!!!1!!!

A bit of background for some that may not know

In 1997 Canton McKinley was undefeated and national champs...
Kenny Peterson and Mike Doss (safety & RB) were on the team... and Josh McDaniels was their skinny ass QB...

I believe Jamaar Martin was on the team the year before too...
and not positive but I think McDaniels dad was the coach...

I had the luxury of watching them play a number of their playoff games at the Rubber Bowl... first time I ever saw the immense following of Moeller... an entire army of huge very classy motor homes.. and the finest uniforms I ever saw on a HS football team... Moeller was very polished... very good and fundamentally flawless... McKinley just had too much talent, speed and obviously won... 31-16

Which made Peterson and Doss in the ultra elite group who were undefeated and national champs... in HS and college...

In 97 it was probably skinny ass Ben McDaniels at QB. Josh was at JC 95-98. :p

I keep reading Troy Calhoun as a replacement...that just doesn't seem like it would work, but I guess anything is possible.

Local college star, came back to coach them and has had success. Former Bronco assistant, OC with the Texans...and will likely come relatively cheap.

Sounds like he's got it all. :wink2:

Don't get me wrong, I love Calhoun as a coach and he's a really good man...which I guess is why I don't think it will work. NFL guys aren't going to warm to his discipline like AFA does...and I know he has been in the NFL before, but as certain other guys have found out, being a head man and being an assistant are WWWAAAYYY different jobs. Most successful NFL head men are pricks (Tony Dungy being the exception)...which rules him out.

tebow is a coach killer

A lot of people actually want to see Tebow play(in denver). Some felt as if it JM limited his play only to keep from looking worse, because of the obvious mistakes that would ensue. Random stat for tbow lovers. He has more rushing td's then beanie on 1/7th of the carries this year.

here's a question that begs to be asked: where would tebow have gone had mcdaniels not taken him? i thought he would be taken in the 2nd at the earliest but probably in the 3rd. mcdaniels made tebow a ton of money by drafting him so early. does anything think st. tebow can live up to that contract?
