British Royals Coming - Do You Care?

Okay, I really have never understood the whole fascination with British royalty. The fact that a couple of the inbreds are heading to America for a visit means absolutely nothing to me and I cannot figure out why the media is so fascinated by these people.

Does anyone on this board really have an interest in these people? I apologize if I have offended anyone, but I just do not get it. Maybe someone can enlighten me as to why I should care about these people and this visit.

Since William and Mary was founded under royal charter, we'd have visitors fairly regularly. Prince Charles gives a heck of a speech, so there's that. Wish I'd been there a year or so earlier, though, when they welcomed the Queen Mother using "The Lady is a Tramp" as entrance music... what fun.
