With the talent of players that tOSU has recruited over the last 3yrs and the ones to coming in the future. Plus having a coach by the name of Jim Tressel. I just get real excited everytime I think about how good we could be the next couple of years. Is this just me or do you all feel the same way.

yea... i although i dont think we will have to wait too long, i think this years team will surprise a lot of people, maybe not the national title yet... but next year... unless we lose a LOT to the nfl then im expecting that team to be absolutly dominant..

Jim Tressel says he wants to contend for the national title every year...not just once in a while, but every year. He had that approach at Youngstown State and ended up being in the national title game six times in nine years, winning four. Can you imagine Ohio State winning four titles in this decade?

Not to mention the number of players we will continue to put in the NFL. I cannot stand when Cryami refers itself as "NFL U." I would laugh my ass off if we start placing more players in the first round than they do, which I predict will start happening in the not-too-distant future.

As long as we are in the national picture our recruiting should just keep getting better. I just started paying attention to recruiting in the last couple years. i think you can all ready tell an increase in the number of high profile recruits that list tOSU in the top five.

Just Think About It

If you really look at what JT is bringing to the table it's mind boggling what this and future OSU teams will do. Think about the speed of this team for the next four years and you'll have an idea of how tough it will be for average teams to compete with us. At the skill positions, 4.5 is almost slow!

I think this year will be very telling to determine if we reload or rebuild. I can see us going to another BCS game and I can also see us with 3-4 L's. It seems like one program is always reaching untouchable status. Before Jan 2003 it was miami, now it is USC, but it never lasts. The future outlook for this program is in the top 5 and that is all we can ask for. As for winning 4 NC this decade? I would be happy with 2, hell I am happy with 1!

JT bringing in not only talented kids but what appears to be kids with good character as well, coupled with the fact that he is from Ohio (and by definition GETS OSU football), this does seem to be the beginning of a golden age for Buckeye football. I am thrilled that my 7 year old and 9 year old will be able to experience this rosy future (not to mention the old man as well).

I have not followed recruiting since JT came on board three years ago. Since then, I am so addicted to it! Not only we are bringing in great players, but smarter players too (GPA). The coaches also has a way to help these young guns maxiumize their talent as well. As I have said before, I am an eternal optimist when it comes to Buckeye Football. I think they have the opportunity to win every game they play no matter who they play...Go Bucks!

I am definitly happy that JT is doing a good job. I always talk positive about the bucks when i am talking to the big 3 florida fans(uf,fsu and um). Some of them that follow recruiting are mentioning we go after a lot of recruits that they are going after too. Let us win another championship or two in the next few years and a lot of them will bring up osu when they start talking about the elite teams. Of course though, they think us and michigan are the only "good teams" in the big ten, but i am working on that!

I agree with "Mililiani's" take here and this is true the way Coach "T" approaches every season. He did it this way at YSU and nothing has changed now with Ohio State. The only difference here is, the caliber of football players at Ohio State compared to the ones he was working with at Youngstown State. The ones at Y-Town had to play hard for every game, right up to the final one. And YSU could get in the playoffs even if they had a 11 and 1, or 12 and 2 season.

A reporter, after the Fiesta N/C game, asked Jim the difference in playing for a National Championship at YSU and preparing for one at Ohio State now. Jims reply was "The only difference was at Ohio State every game they play is just like a playoff game and that is the approach we are going to have if we are going to be sucessful" I thought that pretty well sumed up the question in a good way. And the talent he has now is way beyond anything he ever had at Youngstown. It just his Idea on how to sell that to the crop of well gifted players here at Ohio State. I think his sucess will be measured on that basis.
