Has anyone ever been on a tour of any breweries in the PA, NJ, DE, NY, MD area? The gf is taking me away for the weekend to go on one and she wants to know which one I'd like to go to.

Thinking something like Dogfish Head, Southern Tier, River Horse, Victory, etc. Would love to hear any experiences.

FWIW, you should make your way out to Portland, Oregon some time. More micro-brews in Portland than any other city in the world. Good times.

You could do a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery and make it a weekend in the city. I think they only do tours on either Friday or Saturday, I forget which. If those are the only states you'd consider, my vote would be for either Brooklyn or Southern Tier. If you went to Southern Tier, you could do some camping in upstate NY. You could do Weyerbacher, but then you're in Easton, PA, and what the hell else are you going to do in Easton, PA?

Problem with Brooklyn is that I'm not going to ask her to rent a room that close to my apartment. But I've heard good things about the brewery and have meant to get out there.

Not sure how the tours work at the breweries in the States, but I had some pretty good times at the OB and Hite breweries in Korea. The key is finding that final "promised land". They took us through the whole tour pointing out this and that....yada yada yada.....but, in the end, they reach the tasting area...where you get like 20 minutes to work your complimentary glass mug. So, the key is to be able to get to that area sooner, while the rest of the saps are being educated.

Didn't take the tour, but went to the Brooklyn Brewery to drink. I believe it's every Friday they serve beer. Really just an open area of the brewery where they put some picnic tables and people drink fresh beer. It was actually pretty cool.
