Breakfast at Wimbledon - Nadal or Federer?

It's interesting how the play has changed at Wimbledon. When McEnroe, Becker and Navratilova were winning in the 80s it was all about serve and volley. Sampras did a lot of it, too.

Agassi showed you can win from the back, even on grass, and the two guys playing today are spending most of their time on the baseline. It used to be rare to ever see a rally go more than 3 or 4 shots.

The 3 points played in the 4th set tiebreak, after the score was 7-7, were fantastic. An unbelievable running forehand passing shot by Nadal to give him a championship point, a backhand passing shot by Federer down the line when a miss meant the match was over, and then a rally won by Federer to give him a set point on his racket, which he won with a big serve.

Going to 5 sets. Reminds me of the 1980 Borg-McEnroe match, which had an epic 4th set tiebreak won by McEnroe, who then lost the 5th set to Borg. I woke up very early in Vegas to watch that match on TV.

Nadal has to forget being up 5-2 in the tiebreak with 2 serves coming to him. And the double-fault on one of them.

What a tiebreak! You have to wonder if Nadal can bounce back after two championship points wasted.

Yep, I think that was his chance.

This has turned into a classic. Will it end before it gets too dark to play?
