Talk about a dogmeat week for a poll...There were teams I wanted to drop out of the top 10 and couldn't, teams I wanted to drop out of the top 20 and couldn't, and teams I wanted to drop all together and couldn't, all because so many teams lost and everyone else has failed to assert themselves. All the teams I almost ranked last week (Illinois, Northwestern, Hawaii, Syracuse) all lost. I know Texas A&M had one good win, but I can't see them as a Top 25 team right now. I really wanted to drop Utah further, but since a lot of other teams lost, I couldn't. At this rate, the winner of this week's Toledo/Northern Illinois game will show up in my poll if some other teams don't start showing something. And the Big East is an even bigger suckfest than it was even a week go.

I completely agree. This week was hard to find 15 teams I'd like to rank, let alone 25. I went heavy on the mid-majors, UCF and Temple. I ranked Pittsburgh over Florida because... well because I've seen Florida suck it up a lot more than I have Pitt.

There are just too much mediocrity in the top-40 or so that you can justify ranking anyone that you'd like.

Currently, I have MSU>Wisconsin>Ohio State because of the identical records and the h2h match-ups.

I think we can, and will, move up but given our schedule to date 9th is where I have us. My eyes tell me those SEC teams are that good, and the schedule is a meat grinder. Those teams play "Wisconsin" almost every week.

Boise and TCU are nice non-BCS schools who could hang with the big boys in a one shot deal, but neither have the roster to survive a major conference schedule without multiple losses. That's just the reality of recruiting and depth, regardless of where the "real" voters have them.

Always gets tough this time of year to put in a good 15-25. A lot of losses collected at the bottom part of the poll, but that's why the top 10 is the top 10 and everyone else is everyone else.

Notre Dame 28
Utah 3

So much for TCU's big win.

BTW, the mighty Horned Frogs are trying to hang on at home versus San Diego State, 40-35.

Stop drinking the kool aid, folks.
