I thought long and hard about moving LSU to #1, but nothing I have seen from Alabama has indicated they are not the best team to me. I jumped Clemson 10 to reward them for the last 2 weeks, and I can't see Florida State in the poll at 2-2 right now. I still think Houston is rank-worthy with Keenum at the helm, and have had them at #25 the last 3 weeks.

I am still moving teams around as the season progresses. Now that we are four weeks in things and most teams have played their preseason teams (at least in the B10), we'll see how things start to shake out. Our game and the Nebraska\Wisconsin game will provide some interesting movement in the polls. I had to drop FSU after 2 losses even though they were against good teams. I still can't see why Oregon is such a poll favorite to be in the top 10 in the national polls. I am still waiting for them to actually beat someone of prominence in a major game.

There were 6 of us that had LSU #1, among the 17 voters, after the Oregon game.

I don't know who the other 4 were, they didn't post their polls like we did.

Who did Boise beat of prominence in a major game? Georgia?

Not meaning to pick on you individually, you just happened to state something I hear often about teams and yet rarely about Boise. They seem to be held to a different standard, as though they are a proven commodity. Put Oregon against Georgia and Boise against LSU and the results/polls would look much different, and yet they are still the same teams.

This is my problem with the polls in general - who, when and where you play can matter even more than the actual strength of one's team.

Oregon whooped Stanford like a rented mule last year. I know that was last year, but you brought past seasons into the discussion when you made the bolded statement above.

The thing is, it's still early in the season. Oregon has only one loss, and it's to the team that is #1 on most ballots in this poll. If one believes that LSU is #1, it's quite possible that Oregon is actually the real #2 and better than any number of teams that are still undefeated.

The comment is more related to my opinion that Oregon has not shown well in their previous two bowls or now against LSU. I feel they are more of a media darling than Boise (unless your KH). Boise beat VT last year as well.
