It was difficult to figure out who deserved #7 this week. Wiscy would have been there if they had shown up in the second half on Saturday.

My poll for this week, just because I like to stay transparent.
1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma
3. Missouri
4. Penn State
5. Texas
6. LSU
7. Texas Tech
8. USC
9. Florida
10. Ohio State
11. Auburn
12. Utah
13. BYU
14. South Florida
15. Georgia

18. Wisconsin
19. Vanderbelt
20. Oregon
21. Kentucky
22. UConn
23. Oklahoma State
24. Virginia Tech
25. Northwestern

Looks like out of the 9 points for Kentucky, I was 5 of them. But, heck, they haven't lost, and their d-line looks really really good to me. This week was a little bit more difficult.

I like this poll, it's better than what the AP has up. Here is my ballot. Couple of thoughts.

I don't think teams should necessarily move up or down during bye weeks. Moveing one place or so isn't so bad, but I don't necessarily think that Texas Tech is better this week than last just because Florida lost to Ole Miss (besides I'm not sold on TT anyway). I also don't believe that Illinois should drop because they lost to the #6 and #3 teams, and looked pretty good in each game. They are supposed to loose those games (if they were supposed to win, they would have ranked higher, right?). So, I kept them right where they were last week. Finally, I'm not sold on Texas Tech and South Florida. TT will likely loose to OU and Texas, and it just seems silly to move them up the polls just to knock them back down again later. (By the same logic, if they loose to Texas and OU, I won't knock them down much either, unless they get blown out.) Oh, Auburn sucks, at least on offense. And UConn would be my 26. Looking forward to UConn-USF.

Why is Texas Tech in anyone's top ten?
Why not? They are putting up as much offense as Penn State did against crappy teams. Everyone else has a loss. They are the lowest team in my Top 10 without a loss. I think the other teams without a loss, like BYU, are way further behind, and they don't play anybody, so I'm not going to rank them high now, cuz then I have to have a reason to knock them down when they win. But I have no problem putting Texas Tech where they are, because they have a really tough schedule coming up, so we will definitely find out how good they are by the end.

I have a very hard time putting Brigham Young in the top 10. I mean who have they beaten this season excess for some very poor Pac-10 teams and they only beat Washington by 1 point. I just think that there are quite a few teams beneath them that would take them to the woodshed. Well, maybe not the woodshed but they certainly would beat them.

I also have a problem dropping Illinois also way out of the top 25 just because they lost to Penn State and Penn State is ranked in the top 10 and they did play at the Criminals' Valley. I certainly think they would give UConn a run for their money.

Still unsure about Vanderbilt because I can barely read the name but I will have a better handle on them after they get taken care of by Auburn this Saturday.

I also think Utah is getting too much respect because they beat sCum and Air Force by a touchdown... please.

Texas Tech always looks good against crappy teams in September. All that has changed is the date on the calendar.

Okay. They looked pretty good at K-State. Still not in my top ten, but they're close.

Week six poll sent.
