Now I am really having a hard time with not only Alabama over Florida but Texas and Oklahoma also. You are really holding that one-point loss to a good Mississippi (how many weeks ago) team. I think Gator must have done something to you:huh:

The timing means virtually nothing to me. I don't place a heavier value on how teams are playing now - I look at the body of work for the whole season.

But do you really think that Florida's home loss to Ole Miss should be less damaging than Texas's last-second loss on the road to a top-10 team? Or less damaging than Oklahoma's loss to a top-4 Texas team? (which was also several weeks ago, if you care about that)

OK, let's not focus on losses, let's look at 'quality wins'. Are you aware that Florida has a whopping total of 1 victory over teams that are in the top-25 of either the Coaches, Harris, or AP poll? A victory over Georgia, who's not in the top-15 any more, and that's it. Late in the year, I believe in evaluating wins based on where the opponents are ranked now, not where they were ranked when the game was played. And I'm not very impressed by the list of opponents that Florida has defeated.

It's not just me that has Texas and Oklahoma ahead of Florida - the coaches poll and the overall BCS both have Florida 4th. The computers have Florida 6th.

But it doesn't really matter. If they beat Alabama, they'll be in the top-2, and I'll probably vote them there.
