BP Fantasy Baseball (2008-2024, Current Champion = MD Buckeye again)

I suppose somebody is excited about another *fart noise* baseball season. I’m ready for football already. Between the Reds, and missing the playoffs the last two years in this league, I’d be fine if it was August right now.

Uh yeah. Baseball is my fav sport but my ultimate fav team is ohio state football. Hard to watch other football games anymore between lousy refs, commercials, sloppy play etc. So while you wish half the year away it's about to get good for me

You’re not alone. I know plenty who are pretty excited about spring training. The Reds have ruined baseball for me.

Now is the time to discuss any possible changes in rules/settings. Suggestions?

I guess am more about quality than quantity when it comes to pitching. I feel that if you want to chase wins, then good luck because that category is unpredictable and unreliable. However, strikeouts are another thing altogether. It doesn’t take much skill to bludgeon your opponent to death by throwing 30 more innings pitched to rack more K’s. But it does take some skill to win the K/9 category because it isn’t about the quantity of innings pitched, it is about the quality of your pitchers you choose to pitch. I vote to go back to K/9 as a category instead of just K’s.

Agreed. Anything to go towards quality. You could have the hands down better pitching staff and get spammed to death. You’re not cutting a SP if you’ve got 5 legit SP but you’ll never beat the other guy in IP (and stats that are accumulated by those IP) when he is just gonna cut middle of the road guys daily for more middle of the road guys (which I would also do if that’s the way the league is, it just doesn’t seem like it should be that way.)

Keeper is set. Mookie, the new Dodger......

edit: posting this so everyone can take him off their draft board. If anyone else would like to post their keeper, as well, inquiring minds would like to know.

I'm on board with K/9
