I’m sure it can be a bit much but playing in multiple football leagues, I feel like the early drafts prepare you for the later ones in a way that mocks don’t.

I have done precisely zero draft prep for this...I think my 6th place finish last year is in jeopardy

It's too late for this season, but I'm thinking next year we may have a fixed draft order based off the prior season finish if we're keeping all or most returning teams.
But don't think tanking will get you #1 - I hate that shit in the NBA and NFL. In our case, 7th place would get #1. I'd do that shit in the pros, too. The team that just missed the playoffs would get #1. Tanking will only fuck your team.
