BP College Fantasy Football 2007

Hadn't we changed the bonus points to something like more than 80 yards anyways? Fine with me if we nix them. The only other thing I thought of is having an EXTRA spot for returners...in other words, treat kick and punt returners as either one or two spots in the lineup, and only their return yardage will count. Doesn't really matter to me, as it kind of takes some of the skill out of the draft, but that's how most pro fantasy leagues do it. Even if your WR is also your returner, you would list the WR is both spots.

looking over last year's scoresheet, I only have 2 proposed scoring changes.

1. More points for a safety. Getting a safety is more difficult than kicking a FG or 2 XPs, but it's not treated that way in the scoring.

2. No more bonus points. It's a pain in the ass to keep up with.

Thoughts?

I agree no bonus points for long yard gains, but would not be adverse to bonus points for single player yardage.. ie (the yardage tiers below are just examples, could be set to anything.. though I think these make the possibility of gaing the bonus points reasonable, but not assured.)

QB -

Pass for 300 - 5 points
Pass for 325 - 5 points (that's a total of 10)
Pass for 350 - 5 points (total of 15 bonus)

RB -
Rush for 100 - 5 points
Rush for 150 - 5 points
Rush for 200 - 5 points

WR -
Gain 80 WR yards - 5 points
Gain 120 - 5 points
Gain 150 5 points

Thus, each player has a possibility of gaining 15 bonus points (and no more than 15.. that is, if QB throws for 880 it's still only 15 bonus points.

In the league I ran scoring was:
Passing Yards divided by 20 = 1 pt
Rush yards divided by 10 = 1 pt
Rec. yards divided by 10 = 1 pt
TDs = 6
Safety 2
Receptions = 1 pt
INT = -2pts
FG and XPs as we do them here

Did not keep track of fumbles, too hard to find in box scores, and unreliable (I personally witnessed Lydell Ross fumble, for example, and found that CBS, ESPN attributed the fumble to the fullback, and Yahoo had no record of it at all. - if I had not watched the game, who am I to believe regarding this fumble? A strong argument for picking a "Official" stat keeper site, as it has been my expierence it is impossible to find agreement across sites. We had ESPN as the "Official" and if there was some kind of screw up there, we had CBS as the "back up" site.)

Scores were as low as in the 80s, and highest was 221 (I know this because it was me who scored it :biggrin:). I thought it worked well, and I have the spreadsheet which automatically calculated the score (All you had to do was input the yardage) if you all want to do it this way. If not, no biggie... just sayin.

Found it very easy to keep track of - though we did not use Defenses.

Anyway, I wouldn't up the safety score... 2 pts is pleanty. Making it more gives too much emphasis to the safety, making it something of a windfall for the guy who gets one. I'd like to leave it at 2 pts.

You know if Slaton didn't hurt his freaking hamstring for bowl week, I TOTALLY woulda kicked your ASS in the finals.

But I agree about the bonus points - do away with them. Do away with fumbles, also.

Yeah, I'm glad I have the right goons.

Hell, if I didn't convince BK that starting Mike Hart during The Game was not in his best interests, I wouldn't have even made it to the Championship.

I made one for Bucky Katt's 05 win (He did win 05, if I recall correctly)

OK, here's the scoring:

Passing, Rushing & Receiving TDs = 6 pts

Rushing/Receiving Yards = 1 pt / 10 yards rushing

Kickers
PAT = 1 pt
Missed PAT = -3 pts
FG 0-49 = +3 pts
FG 50+ = +5 pts
FG 60+ = +8 pts
Defense
Defensive TD = 6pts
Interceptions = 2 pts*
Fumble Recovery = 2 pts
*
Safety = 2 pts
Points Allowed
0 = 10 pts
1-6 = 8 pts
7-13 = 5 pts
14-20 = 2 pts
21-27 = 0 pts
28-34 = -2 pts
35+ = -5 pts

Returns
TD = 6 pts
Return Yards = 1 pt / 10 yards return

Bonus
QB -
Pass for 300 - 5 points
Pass for 325 - 5 points
Pass for 350 - 5 points

RB -

Rush for 150 - 5 points
Rush for 200 - 5 points

WR -
Gain 80 - 5 points
Gain 120 - 5 points
Gain 150 5 points

Changes

-
No Fumble penalty this year....so feel free to grab Steve Slaton and let Mike Hart fall :biggrin:
- Old bonus points feature out, BKB's bonus point feature in.
- No blocked kicks. That was about impossible to find.
- Yahoo's stats will be the official stats, unless anybody has a legit problem with their stat records.

Open Questions
- Was it easy to find defensive INTs and FRs last year? I forget.

I'll make a new spreadsheet for scoring that will include BKB's bonus point system.

DRAFT: I'll send out a PM to everyone to confirm they are drafting based on these rules. As soon as I get a reply back from everybody, the draft will start (either then, or Monday if that's more convenient).

Draft order coming in next post.
